Crosslinked Starch - The Future of Sustainable Bioplastics?

Since the 1950s, no other material has been developed and used to the same extent as plastic. We have built up a society that has integrated plastics into virtually every aspect of our lives. With low material prices, cheap manufacturing methods and its versatility, plastic has quickly become a commodity in society that is consumed in an unsustainable way. Plastic pollution causes immense social,

Pluralities and Pines: An Exploration of Immigrant Integration in the Catalonian Forest Sector

As migrations from within and outside of Europe continue to increase steadily, particularly in the Mediterranean region, the integration of immigrant populations is one of the most pressing issues faced by many European countries. Schizoid cynicism among fast-food restaurant workers

Based on an ethnographic case study, this paper offers a typology of how, and under what circumstances, employees at a fast food-restaurant are cynical. Thus, we have had an interpretive approach to re

The Nexus between Sustainable Practices and Foreign Ownership: A firm-sector-level analysis within the EECA region

The discovery of the virulence gene ToxA in the wheat and barley pathogen Bipolaris sorokiniana

Bipolaris sorokiniana is the causal agent of multiple diseases on wheat and barley and is the primary constraint to cereal production throughout South Asia. Despite its significance, the molecular basis of disease is poorly understood. To address this, the genomes of three Australian isolates of B. sorokiniana were sequenced and screened for known pathogenicity genes. Sequence analysis revealed th

Objective: Present a systematic analysis of the outcome research concerning video feedback (VF) programs. Method: Twentyninestudies published between 1990 and 2014 were examined. They focused on children 0–12 years old and had at least onecontrol group. Results: VF programs were similar in design, with interventions focusing on parental and child behavior, parentalsensitivity and attachment. The concentration dependence of adsorption from a mixture of β-lactoglobulin and sodium dodecyl sulfate onto methylated silica surfaces

The adsorption from a mixture of SDS and β-Lactoglobulin, 1:5 (), onto a methylated silica surface was studied in situ by ellipsometry. The amounts adsorbed from different concentrations of the mixture, at pH 7, were compared with those adsorbed from the corresponding pure SDS and β-lactoglobulin solutions. At high concentrations of the mixture, where the CMC of SDS is approached or exceeded, the The adsorption from a mixture of SDS and β-Lactoglobulin, 1:5 (), onto a methylated silica surface was studied in situ by ellipsometry.
