Computation of combined turbulent convective and impingement heat transfer

Impingement and forced convection are preferable methods for cooling gas turbine components. However, influences of various design parameters like crossflow and surface enlargements (like ribs) are not well understood. Thus there is a request for reliable and cost effective computational prediction methods, due to the experimental difficulties. such methods could be based on the numerical solution

A consumption based LCA tool for housing management

The housing sector accounts for roughly 30% of the total annual energy consumption in the developed nations. Notwithstanding, sustainable housing management has not received sufficient attention previously, even though the role of housing managers can be considered significant in reducing the energy consumption of existing residential buildings. This study proposes a concept for a comprehensive an

Sweden

Industrial relations in Sweden are part of the Nordic legal tradition. This is characterised by labour law which is largely semi-discretionary law and collective agreements are the most important instrument for regulation of the labour market; these agreements offer a high degree of coverage. Trade unions are well organised and play a central role in the labour law system. During the past 25 years

Barriers and Facilitators for Implementation of Individualized Fire Safety (IFS) in Sweden

In 2010, the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) announced a “vision zero” of zero fire deaths in Sweden by 2050. Studies into fire deaths have identified that certain risk groups, including but not limited to older people, are overrepresented in fire death statistics in Sweden. The MSB has developed guidelines for how individualised fire safety (IFS) can be implemented in local communities f

Implementation of the integrated palliative care outcome scale in acute care settings - a feasibility study

OBJECTIVE: Although hospitals have been described as inadequate place for end-of-life care, many deaths still occur in hospital settings. Although patient-reported outcome measures have shown positive effects for patients in need of palliative care, little is known about how to implement them. We aimed to explore the feasibility of a pilot version of an implementation strategy for the Integrated P

Climate City Contracts? Governing towards Climate Neutral Cities

Climate City Contracts or CCCs are being developed in the context of a larger mission, with many stakeholders, funding, and growing momentum, hopefully providing a new force, legitimacy, and inspiration to ongoing urban climate actions. CCCs differ from current strategies for tackling climate change in cities because they are being developed in the context of the mission approach to tackle some of

Beyond CAPM: Evaluating the Fama & French Three-Factor Model on Nasdaq Stockholm

This thesis examines whether the Fama & French three-factor model (1993) provides a better explanation of Swedish stock returns than the traditional Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM). Using data from firms listed on Nasdaq Stockholm between 2016 and 2024, six portfolios were formed based on firm size and price-to-book ratio. Monthly returns were calculated and regressed against both the marke

Projektet har beskrivitAs the world becomes increasingly globalized, new types of challenges arise. Tax planning and tax evasion continue to cause significant harm to the tax bases of countries. To combat this, the OECD has been working on a project called BEPS (Base Erosion and Profit Shifting) since 2013. BEPS consists of 15 actions aimed at countering the erosion of the tax base and profit shifting. The project has b

Businesses’ Willingness to Sustainable Approach Using BMfS to Manage Sustainable Supply Chain Evidence of Development and Implementation of BMfS on Introduction of Organic Cotton Action Outdoor Products

With the rapid production of sportswear and its price advantage, consumption has also increased significantly, which has a rather negative impact on the environment, society, and the economy. Fashion retailers and their consumers are also well aware of this, and their demands for sustainable fashion have had a strong impact on the production of sportswear and consumer behaviour in recent years. Su

Impact of prolonged rainy seasons on food crop production in Cameroon

This study set out to examine why agricultural production in differing agro-ecological zones of the same country responds differently to a common environmental event (an extension of the rainy season). We find that the heavy reliance of farmers in the drier agro-ecological zones on seasonal cycles make them more vulnerable to an extension of the rainy season than those in regions where rainfall is
