Dock samvarierar olika faktorer i individers arbetssitua-tion. För att fånga in This report from the Swedish Agency for Work Environment Knowledge isconcerned with the impact of the psychosocial work environment — that is,the mental work environment and social work environment — on the seniorworkforce (≥55 years of age) in a Swedish context. However, many differentfactors can affect an individual’s work situation. Therefore, the studies inclu-ded in this literature review hav

Electrical and Structural Properties of Si1−xGex Nanowires Prepared from a Single-Source Precursor

Si1−xGex nanowires (NWs) were prepared by gold-supported chemical vapor deposition (CVD) using a single-source precursor with preformed Si–Ge bonds. Besides the tamed reactivity of the precursor, the approach reduces the process parameters associated with the control of decomposition characteristics and the dosing of individual precursors. The group IV alloy NWs are single crystalline with a const

A Potential Site for Wide-orbit Giant Planet Formation in the IM Lup Disk

The radial transport, or drift, of dust has taken a critical role in giant planet formation theory. However, it has been challenging to identify dust drift pileups in the hard-to-observe inner disk. We find that the IM Lup disk shows evidence that it has been shaped by an episode of dust drift. Using radiative transfer and dust dynamical modeling we study the radial and vertical dust distribution.

Weapons of the vulnerable? A review of popular resistance to climate adaptation

Climate adaptation is not a neutral or apolitical process, but one that ignites social resistance. Government responses to risks of floods, droughts, or hurricanes – even those using a language of participation – might follow historical development pathways, strive to maintain the status quo, and directly or indirectly serve elite interests. Little attention has been paid to how people defy or res

DNA Methylation and Gene Expression of the Cysteinyl Leukotriene Receptors as a Prognostic and Metastatic Factor for Colorectal Cancer Patients

Colorectal cancer (CRC), one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in the western world, is the third most common cancer for both men and women. As a heterogeneous disease, colon cancer (CC) is caused by both genetic and epigenetic changes. The prognosis for CRC is affected by a variety of features, including late diagnosis, lymph node and distant metastasis. The cysteinyl leukotrienes (C

Gut Micro- and Mycobiota in Preeclampsia : Bacterial Composition Differences Suggest Role in Pathophysiology

Preeclampsia is a severe pregnancy-related inflammatory disease without an effective treatment. The pathophysiology remains partly unknown. However, an increased inflammatory response and oxidative stress are part of the maternal systemic reaction. Recent data have suggested that dysbiosis of the gut microbiome plays a role in preeclampsia as well as other inflammatory diseases. However, dysbiosis

Centres of Excellence for Adolescent Health and Development : A Case Study from Uttar Pradesh, India

Adolescents and young adult comprise a significant proportion of India’s population. Although, this group of the population faces serious challenges to their health and well-being. To promote their health and well-being, Centre of Excellence (CoE) at King George’s Medical University, Lucknow, India, serves as an advanced care facility for 10–24-year-old adolescents and young adult women. This pape

Independent Evidence for the Preservation of Endogenous Bone Biochemistry in a Specimen of Tyrannosaurus rex

Biomolecules preserved in deep time have potential to shed light on major evolutionary questions, driving the search for new and more rigorous methods to detect them. Despite the increasing body of evidence from a wide variety of new, high resolution/high sensitivity analytical techniques, this research is commonly met with skepticism, as the long standing dogma persists that such preservation in

Contribution of GIP and GLP-1 to the Insulin Response to Oral Administration of Glucose in Female Mice

It has previously been shown that the incretin effect accounts for ≈50% of the insulin response to oral glucose in normal mice. Now, I have proceeded and studied the contribution of glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) to the insulin response to oral glucose in female mice by using receptor antagonists. A specific GIP receptor antagonist (mGIP(3-30

Factors associated with clinically relevant pain reduction after a self-management program including education and exercise for people with knee and/or hip osteoarthritis : Data from the BOA register

Aim To examine the associations between individual- and disease-related factors and the odds of reaching a clinically relevant pain reduction in people with knee and/or hip osteoarthritis (OA) who underwent a first-line self-management program. Materials and methods An observational registry-based study including people with knee (n = 18,871) and hip (n = 7,767) OA who participated in a self-manag

Phospho-tau with subthreshold tau-PET predicts increased tau accumulation rates in amyloid-positive individuals

Different tau biomarkers become abnormal at different stages of Alzheimer's disease, with CSF phospho-tau typically becoming elevated at subthreshold levels of tau-PET binding. To capitalize on the temporal order of tau biomarker-abnormality and capture the earliest changes of tau accumulation, we implemented an observational study design to examine longitudinal changes in Tau-PET, cortical thickn

Biobased Combined Heat and Power Production in Sweden – Opportunities for and Challenges to Sustainability from the Plant Operator Perspective

Although combined heat and power (CHP) production in Sweden is already largely decarbonised, this technology has further potential to alleviate pressing environmental concerns. Today, biobased CHP plants connected to district heating (DH) grids dominate the Swedish residential heating sector. The societal context in which CHP plants operate is, however, subject to continuous change. New aims and r

Upright Posture and Gendered Styles of Body Movements in The Mill on the Floss

George Eliot predicates the two principal characters of her second novel, The Mill on the Floss (1860), not on fixed traits but on gendered differences in styles of body movement. This chapter approaches the interplay of medicine and mobility through the lens of the feminist phenomenology of perception, situating Eliot’s configuration of the gendered scripts of posture in the proto-orthopaedic dis

Mäns våld mot kvinnor - ett olösligt samhällsproblem? : Våld i svensk jämställdhetspolitik under 2000-talet
