Measurement of D0, D+, D*+ and D s + production in Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN=5.02 TeV

We report measurements of the production of prompt D0, D+, D*+ and Ds + mesons in Pb–Pb collisions at the centre-of-mass energy per nucleon-nucleon pair sNN=5.02 TeV, in the centrality classes 0–10%, 30–50% and 60–80%. The D-meson production yields are measured at mid-rapidity (|y| < 0.5) as a function of transverse momentum (pT). The pT intervals covered in central collisions are: 1 < pT< 50 GeV/

Investigating the state of play of geobim across Europe

In both the Geographic Information (Geo) and Building Information Modelling (BIM) domains, it is widely acknowledged that the integration of data from both domains is beneficial and a crucial step in facing the multi-disciplinary challenges of our built environment. The result of this integration - which can broadly be termed GeoBIM -could answer questions such as identifying an appropriate Heatin

A Radial Basis Function Method for Approximating the Optimal Event-Based Sampling Policy

In networked control systems it is desirable to have efficient wireless communication (saving energy and bandwidth) while still ensuring good control performance. By abandoning periodic sampling, communication can be made more efficient by sampling and updating the control signal only "when required" based on the system’s behaviour. This is the concept of event-based control. In this work we consi

Marte Meo and Coordination Meetings (MAC): A Systemic School-Based Video feedback Intervention - A Randomised Controlled Trial

Children displaying early disruptive behaviour problems (DBP) in school are at risk for severe long-term problems. This study evaluated and compared a systemic school-based intervention, Marte Meo and Coordination meetings (MAC) with service as usual (SAU) in a randomised controlled trial. The teachers’ and parents’ ratings were collected before and after intervention. Target group were children a

What is the need for building parts? - A comparison of CityGML, inspire building and a swedish building standard

The need for digital building information is increasing, both in the form of 3D city models (as geodata) and of more detailed building information models (BIM). BIM models are mainly used in the architecture, engineering and construction industry, but have recently become interesting also for municipalities. The overall aim of this paper is to study one way of dividing a building, namely the divis

The semiotics of the game controller

An important question for video game research is how to characterize the video game experience. One common view emphasizes that players are cognitively able to operate with the game world as the experiential point of reference leading to states of "immersion, "spatial presence", or "engagement". A different view is that the player is also embodied and situated in the actual world, entailing that t

Modelling multiphase transport in deformable cellulose based materials exhibiting internal mass exchange and swelling

A thermodynamically consistent model for porous cellulose networks is proposed. A general theory is developed based on mixture theory using chemical potentials as flow potentials. The material is decomposed into three phases, solid, liquid and gas, where the solid and gas phases are further separated into dry fiber and fiber water, water vapor and dry air, respectively. Between the phases interfac

Craniopharyngioma. Morbidity and Structural Changes in the Brain

Hypothalamus (HT) is a brain structure which serves as a coordination center for several vital body functions. Craniopharyngioma (CP) is a pituitary tumor with high morbidity, primarily due to HT lesion. Among important consequences of CP are cognitive dysfunction and intractable weight gain due to HT obesity, resulting in high cardiovascular (CV) risk. A better understanding of the structural bra

Nanoscale quantum calorimetry with electronic temperature fluctuations

Motivated by the recent development of fast and ultrasensitive thermometry in nanoscale systems, we investigate quantum calorimetric detection of individual heat pulses in the sub-meV energy range. We propose a hybrid superconducting injector-calorimeter setup, with the energy of injected pulses carried by tunneling electrons. It is shown that the superconductor constitutes a versatile injector, w
