The thesis examines the transformation of downtown Stockholm during the post-war period from a governmentality perspective. The aim of the study is to examine how the planning of the city can be viewed as a complex of techniques aimed at governing the city and the population. The source material consists of the four structure plans that where adopted gradually as the project was carried through.
