Jag forskar inom neurolingvistik om hur hjärnan bearbetar talat språk. Jag leder projekt med konsolideringbidrag från VR samt bidrag från KAW och MAW, där vi med hjälp av högupplöst magnetkamera undersöker till vilken grad språkbearbetning kan integreras i hjärnans generella system för ljudbearbetning. Som Wallenberg Academy fellow och inom ett projekt från MAW har jag lett arbetet i att kartlagga hur vi använder språkmelodi för att förutsäga och underlätta bearbetning av grammatisk struktur. Hjälpmedel har också utvecklas som stöd för att andraspråksinlärare ska kunna lära sig att använda signaler i språkmelodin för att effektivare bearbeta grammatisk struktur.
Jag har tidigare varit forskningsledare för ett projekt som undersöker hur tidsbaserat förfall av ordformer i korttidsminnet påverkar satsbearbetning. Jag har även använt Latent Semantisk Analys (LSA) för att undersöka hur ords abstrakthetsgrad påverkar associationer hos talare med Brocas afasi.
