Ina Möller

Ina completed her Ph.D. from 2015 to 2019, focusing on the emergent politics of geo-engineering. She explored new ideas about large-scale interventions to control global temperatures and aimed to assess the political landscape in this area, through methods of attending scientific conferences and interviewing scientists and politicians.   After completing her Ph.D., Ina planned to take a break and

The GaAs nanowires were first grown by metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy from gold seed particles, and subsequently implanted with Mn ions under varying conditions, e.g., ion fluence and acceleration voltage. The implantation process was carefully analyzed and optimized within the research project

An effective solvent model with an explicit solvent representation is described. The modelled perturbation of the solute due to the discrete solvent molecules includes polarization and a non-electrostatic interaction. The latter depends on the overlap between the solute wave function and the solvent orbitals and approximately accounts for the restraint the Pauli principle puts on the space which t

The past few years have witnessed dramatic growth in the number of wirelessly connected devices, which will continue to increase in the future. Following this trend, the capacity of the wireless networks has been enhanced to provide high-quality service to tens of billions of devices. At the same time, in response to the network enhancement, each device unashamedly requests more and more through

This thesis investigates quantum dynamics induced in atoms by ultrashort pulses of light. The work is motivated by recent developments in free-electron lasers, which generate ultrashort pulses of intense, coherent light and enable coherent control of quantum dynamics. We develop theoretical models to study the processes of absorption and emission in laser-atom interactions. Additionally, we study
