The low levels of workforce participation achieved by Sweden’s immigrants is an issue that has challenged policymakers for over 35 years. Recently, the significance of this issue in the minds of Swedish voters has been made clear, as Sweden elected the first far-right anti-immigration party into parliament in almost 20 years. In late 2010, in an effort to combat the ongoing issue, the government i
This bachelor thesis mainly focuses on the cadmium in the environment, how we are exposed to cadmium and it´s human toxicity. Cadmium (Cd) is a heavy metal that occurs naturally in the earth's crust (0,08 -0,05 μg Cd/g). Pure cadmium minerals are rare and cadmium is often found associated with zinc minerals, such as sphalerite (ZnS) with a Cd-concentration usually lower than 0,5 percent. The
Models for dynamic simulation of a parabolic trough concentrating solar power plant were developed in Modelica for the simulation software Dymola. The parabolic trough power plant has a two-‐tank indirect thermal storage with solar salt for the ability to dispatch electric power later in the evening and during the night when little or no solar irradiation is present. The complete system consists
When we talk about the future of work we do no longer talk about “the paper less office” like we used to but the “no fixed work place office”. In the year of 2013 26% of the Swedish population was occasionally working flexible, meaning at other locations then the actual workplace. And this number is expected to increase in the upcoming years. The research made in this project consisted of differe

In recent years, the Arctic has been one of the most dynamic environments on Earth. As a result, scientific inquiry into the region has produced a large amount of data, with future projections of the volume of data for the Arctic as well as the Antarctic expected to increase by an order of magnitude.
