Writing in English at University: A Guide for Second Language Writers is a textbook designed to accompany the MOOC Writing in English at University.
The textbook can also be used as a stand-alone handbook, with links to online resources, such as instructional videos on key aspects of academic writing, provided throughout. This textbook, just like the MOOC, targets university students currently involved in writing assignments, as well as anyone wishing to learn more about academic writing in English. While useful to all students writing in English, it has been developed specifically for non-native speakers of English who are writing in second-language environments. The textbook covers central aspects of academic writing in English including, for instance, common terminology and concepts in academic writing, structuring and organizing texts, making use of sources, and practical advice on issues that are often encountered by second-language writers.
