Using Multi-Agent Transport Simulations to Assess the Impact of EV Charging Infrastructure Deployment
Over the last two decades, electrification has gained importance as a means to decarbonise the transport sector. As the number of Electric Vehicles (EVs)increases, it is important to consider broader system aspects as well, especially when deciding the type, coverage, size and location of the charging infrastructure required. In this article, a Multi-Agent model depicting long distance transport i
Green warbler phylloscopus nitidus ringed at blåvand : Molecular confirmation of a Danish first and European eighth vagrant record
On 27 May 2015, a Green Warbler Phylloscopus nitidus was caught and ringed at Blåvand Bird Observatory, the westernmost point in Denmark. The species is challenging to identify on morphological basis alone, and the bird’s identity was confirmed with phylogenetic analyses of mitochondrial DNA sequences. This constitutes the first record of Green Warbler in Denmark, the third record in Fennoscandia

Nonmedical use of prescription drugs in the European Union
Background: Nonmedical prescription drug use (NMPDU) refers to the self-treatment of a medical condition using medication without a prescriber's authorization as well as use to achieve euphoric states. This article reports data from a cross-national investigation of NMPDU in five European Countries, with the aim to understand the prevalence and characteristics of those engaging in NMPDU across the

Cross-continental migratory connectivity and spatiotemporal migratory patterns in the great reed warbler
Migratory connectivity describes to which degree different breeding populations have distinct (non-overlapping) non-breeding sites. Uncovering the level of migratory connectivity is crucial for effective conservation actions and for understanding of the evolution of local adaptations and migratory routes. Here we investigate migration patterns in a passerine bird, the great reed warbler Acrocephal

Serine/threonine kinase 39 is a candidate gene for primary hypertension especially in women: results from two cohort studies in Swedes.
BACKGROUND: As recently pinpointed by a genome-wide association study the serine/threonine kinase 39 (STK39) is a candidate gene for hypertension. This kinase is strongly implicated in sodium reabsorption by the kidney through its modulating effect on furosemide-sensitive and thiazide-sensitive channels. The aim of our study was to test the effects of the STK39 rs35929607A>G polymorphism on blood
A pilot test of using the veil of ignorance approach to estimate a social welfare function for income
The veil of ignorance approach is tested as a basis for empirically determining the shape of the social welfare function for income. An experiment is carried out where the participants choose between different societies that differ with respect to per capita income and the distribution of income. The answers are analysed using logistic regression analysis. According to the results the respondents

Dynamic speed adaptation in adverse conditions
Accident risk in adverse conditions (wet/slippery road, darkness) increases drastically and speed adaptation in these conditions is often inappropriate. The safety potential of more appropriate speeds in these situations is high. Appropriate highest speeds in different conditions are discussed. A system, which limits the maximal speed of the vehicle in the actual situation (on wet/slippery road, a

Biological treatment of ankylosing spondylitis : A nationwide study of treatment trajectories on a patient level in clinical practice
Background: There is substantial evidence that patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) have high response rates to tumour necrosis factor inhibitors (TNFi), a low likelihood of successful treatment termination, but yet a limited drug retention. Whereas several reports have assessed drug retention rates for TNFi in AS, there are few, if any, studies investigating the actual treatment trajectories
