Correlations between Health and Communication Trends: An Analysis of the Impact on Swedish Supermarkets

This thesis aims to examine the development of health trends in Sweden, since it is argued that they will prevail and even become more extreme in the near future. Supermarkets will have to understand the impact of those health trends on consumer behaviour and therefore are required to comprehend the sociological, cultural and psychological factors behind these. It is proclaimed that the current he

Strategic Thinking: Theory & Practice

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to test a potential means of measuring strategic thinking ability (Cognitive Process Profiling) in individuals through a multi-method approach. First, we identify what strategic thinking is in theory by analysing the current literature and then identify the most prominent competencies that enable individuals to think strategically. Following this literature r

Fail, Learn, Persist: The Psychology of Re-Entry into Entrepreneurship After Business Failure

This study explores the different psychological processes and psychological capital resources that help entrepreneurs sustain motivation to re-enter entrepreneurship after discontinuing a previous venture. While existing literature has focused intensely on the financial and social costs of business failure, minimal yet growing scholarly attention has focused on the psychological costs of failure a

Goal 4: Quality education Since 2000, there has been enormous progress in achieving the target of universal primary education. The total enrolment rate in developing regions reached 91 percent in 2015, and the worldwide number of children out of school has dropped by almost half. There has also been a dramatic increase in literacy rates, and many more girls are in school than ever before. These ar

Burning material behaviour in hypoxic environments: An experimental study examining fire dynamics of composite materials in vitiated conditions

The progression of fire safety research has contributed to improving the guiding principles of standardised building design. Research making use of pure materials, once common in homes and workplaces, are less relevant as such materials are no longer as prevalent. It is often newer, composite materials that are featured more prominently in building contents. The trend towards the evolution of commIt is widely accepted that by lowering the oxygen concentration below that of the typical ambient conditions (21% Oxygen) fuels are less likely to ignite and will burn slower. ORS (Oxygen Reduction Systems) make use of this to protect their contents. The oxygen concentration in these systems is done by introducing a flow rate containing a higher percentage of nitrogen into the protected area. The

‘Navigating a lonely road to adulthood with an ever-changing map’; a framework and case study protocol exploring the transition to adulthood, mental health literacy and occupational balance among Swedish young adults

BackgroundRecent reports point to a global and Swedish national mental health crisis among young adults. It is widely recognised that this phase of ‘emerging adulthood’ involves many challenges, stressors and uncertainties that can negatively impact mental health and well-being. In addition, these strains may be exacerbated by rapid contemporary changes in technological, societal and sociocultural

Species-Dependent Effects of the Urban Environment on Fatty Acid Composition and Oxidative Stress in Birds

Ecological impacts of urbanization include the loss of biodiversity and changes in species composition and population densities. However, how the urban environment affects fundamental physiological parameters is largely unknown. Here, we investigated physiological components related to health and nutrition, namely, plasma fatty acids (FA) and lipid peroxidation at inter-habitat and interspecific lEcological impacts of urbanization include the loss of biodiversity and changes in species composition and population densities. Multimodal prominences : Exploring the patterning and usage of focal pitch accents, head beats and eyebrow beats in Swedish television news readings

Facial beat gestures align with pitch accents in speech, functioning as visual prominence markers. However, it is not yet well understood whether and how gestures and pitch accents might be combined to create different types of multimodal prominence, and how specifically visual prominence cues are used in spoken communication. In this study, we explore the use and possible interaction of eyebrow (Facial beat gestures align with pitch accents in speech, functioning as visual prominence markers. Äganderättspresumtionen i 4 kap. 19 § utsökningsbalken : familjerättsliga perspektiv

According to the Swedish Enforcement Code a debtor is presumed to be the sole owner of movable property which is possessed jointly with a spouse or domestic partner. In my thesis, I investigate this statutory presumption of ownership from a family law perspective. The applicability of the statutory presumption as well as its legal repercussions are determined by family law. Toward an intersectional equity approach in social-ecological transformations

Non-technical summaryEnsuring more equitable transformations requires addressing how different contextual dimensions of identity, such as gender and class, hinder equity. However, previous analyses on equity have addressed these dimensions separately. We suggest advancing beyond these methods by integrating intersectional analysis into the distributive, procedural, and recognition aspects of equit

Plasticity and the emancipatory architectonics of mutual wholeness and destruction.

The emancipatory appropriation of space, in the sense making personal adjustments and manoeuvres in order to raise a sense of space, can be understood in terms of giving and taking form, or what Catherine Malabou calls “plasticity”. Spatial production is in this sense defined relationally and cannot be fully provided by programmed architectural functions. Ventifacts and wind deflation surfaces in context with glaciofluvial sediment successions in southern Sweden

Recent suggestions propose that the glacial landscape of southern Sweden is a relict landscape from the Saalian glaciation (>130 ka) (Lagerbäck, 2018). The primary argument supporting this viewpoint is the claimed observation that the majority of glaciofluvial deposits in this region exhibits a covering till bed, often accompanied by wind-abraded clasts (ventifacts) at the contact between glaciofl
