Antibody-mediated blockade of CTLA4 has been shown to be effective in treating a select group of patients with late-stage melanoma. The precise mechanism underlying the clinical activity of CTLA4 immunotherapy is poorly understood, although recent experimental findings indicate that antibody-mediated depletion of regulatory T cells (Tregs) in the tumor microenvironment plays a key role in efficaci

Though there currently exists numerous ways and suggestions of how to measure emissions in transportation, companies struggle to accurately quantify their greenhouse gas emissions to make sound and green decisions. It is difficult to determine what to measure, how to measure and why to measure in a certain way. Hence, the purpose of this master thesis was to develop a performance measurement frame

BACKGROUND: Currently, there are no therapies targeting specific pathogenic pathways in myocarditis. IL (interleukin)-1 blockade has shown promise in preclinical studies and case reports. We hypothesized that blockade of IL1RAP (IL-1 receptor accessory protein), a shared subunit of the IL-1, IL-33, and IL-36 receptors, could be more efficient than IL-1 blockade alone. METHODS: We induced coxsackie

Purpose: The main objective of this thesis is to examine the effect different drivers of agency costs have on corporate cash holdings in public and private German technology firms. The analysis identifies three potential sources of agency costs. By determining target cash levels first and then obtaining deviations from these targets, the influences of agency costs are measurable. Data Set: The sam

IntroductionCardiac arrest (CA) survivors often face significant health challenges, including insomnia, which can adversely affect their health-related quality of life. The Minimal Insomnia Symptom Scale (MISS) is a brief, self-reported instrument designed to screen for insomnia. This study aimed to identify the measurement properties of the MISS in CA survivors and to explore a relevant cut-off s

Reaching and grasping impairments significantly affect the quality of life for people who have experienced a stroke or spinal cord injury. The long-term well-being of patients varies greatly according to the restorable residual capabilities. Electrical stimulation could be a promising solution to restore motor functions in these conditions, but its use is not clinically widespread. Here, we introd

Body appreciation-unappreciation and body satisfaction-dissatisfaction are in the literature seen as conceptually different, but construct distinction has only been supported using qualitative methods. Because of limits in using Likert-style questionnaires to measure multidimensional constructs, quantitative research has yet to directly demonstrate that it is possible to appreciate the body withou

Scientific abstract: The study set out to investigate diurnal patterns in methane flux in a fen in Kobbefjord, Southwest Greenland and to link these to physical and biological parameters in the environment. Methane flux was measured using six chambers which recorded the flux every ten minutes from spring to autumn. Methane flux data from 2009 and 2010 were compared to photosynthetically active radA study of diurnal variations in methane flux in a fen in Kobbefjord in Southwest Greenland is presented. Four separate periods, each of one week, from the growing seasons of 2009 and 2010 were chosen. Methane flux data were compared to surface temperature, soil temperature and photosynthetically active radiation (PAR). Regression tests between surface temperature and methane flux produced highly

This study investigates patterns of seasonal variation in hours worked by women employed in home-based industrial production in Sweden in the early 20th century. Previous studies often describe workers in this type of production as the most flexible segment of industrial workers, and highly dependent on seasonal fluctuations in supply and demand. However, few have studied this empirically.
