Euclidean Reconstruction from Image Sequences with Varying and Unknown Focal Length and Principal Point
The special case of reconstruction from image sequences taken by cameras with skew equal to 0 and aspect ratio equal to 1 has been treated. These type of cameras, here called cameras with Euclidean image planes, represent rigid projections where neither the principal point nor the focal length is known, it is shown that it is possible to reconstruct an unknown object from images taken by a camera
Development of the Mouse Lateral Telencephalon
The telencephalon is the most rostral part of the vertebrate central nervous system and is comprised of a number of structures important for voluntary movements and higher cognitive processes. This thesis focuses on the genetic mechanisms that control development of a number of telencephalic structures: the olfactory bulb, the striatum as well as the lateral and basolateral nuclei of the amygdala.
Performance audit at the Swedish Supreme Audit Institution (SAI)
Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) constitute important democratic institutions, providing citizens with an independent analysis on how the Governmental Offices and the central public administration function. This paper reports on findings from a survey, submitted to all performance auditors at the Swedish SAI, on 3 May, 2011. The response rate was 70 per cent (65 out of 93 respondents). The survey

CFD Modeling: Different Kinetic Approaches for Internal Reforming Reactions in an Anode-Supported SOFC
Fuel cells are electrochemical devices that convert chemical energy into electricity. Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are a particularly interesting type because they can reform hydrocarbon fuels directly within the cell, which are possible thanks to their high operating temperature. The purpose of this study is to develop an anode-supported SOFC theoretical model, to enhance the understanding of t

Allergi som subjektiv ohälsa. Rhinitpatientens vardag

Making 21st Century Maps Legible - Methods for Measuring and Improving the Legibility and Usability of Real-Time Maps
Kartorna i dessa tjänster skapas The research presented in this thesis has focused on methods for improving the legibility and usability of maps in real-time map services. The aim has been threefold: to create methods to increase the cartographic quality of maps in map services, to develop methods to measure the legibility, as perceived by the user, and to evaluate the quality of maps. Map services are becoming increasingly commo
“Think with your Senses – Feel with your Mind”: Cognitive and Affective Domains in Knowledge Creation and Sharing.
On a recent trip to Venice, an advertising hoarding was spotted which read ‘Think with your senses, feel with your mind!’ This reminded the authors to think about the relationship between cognitive aspects of individual and organizational knowledge on one hand and feelings/emotions – the affective domain – on the other. When using knowledge within an organizational context, an individual cannot di
