Popular Abstract in English The conventional approach to the analysis of structural change is to apply a horizontal perspective on the economy. This means that sectors are studied in isolation. By the integration of two strands of literature on structural change and the role of technology, evolutionary economics and input-output economics, this thesis applies a vertical perspective on the economy This thesis analyses structural changes and the role of technology in the Swedish economy since the 1970s. With the attention directed towards interdependencies between sectors, a vertical perspective is applied on the economy. This contrats to the most often used horizontal perspective, in which individual sectors, such as manufacturing and services, are studied in isolation. With an integration

Both within Europe and Sweden energy requirements gradually are becoming more stringent in order to increase the share of new buildings with low energy use. However, if the construction and property owners sectors shall make decisions, about larger investments within the field of low energy buildings, a complete evaluation of the buildings´ performance after a few years of operation is needed. A 7th order polyphase G/sub -m/C IF filter with automatic frequency tuning, implemented in a 0.35/spl mu/m CMOS process, is presented. The filter has a center frequency of 3MHz and a passband of 1MHz. The image band rejection is higher than 57dB, the stop band attenuation is at least 40dB. The in-band spurious free dynamic range is around 53dB. On-chip automatic frequency tuning provides more than

With increased market competition and advances in modern manufacturing technologies, requirements on customer orders and manufacturing conditions have become more diversified. This paper addresses a dynamic production planning problem for a steel plate fabrication plant with practical flexibility of both customers and manufacturing, such as steel slab-plate matching rules, plate substitution optio

This paper deals with the design of a nonlinear observer for the inverted pendulum. The observer uses the standard structure of the linear observer with the linear model replaced by a nonlinear model. Nominal observer gains are determined from a linearised model. This model is also used to find a compromise between robustness and performance. The stability of the observer is then discussed and con
