Antagningsomgång och utbud

Fakulteterna avgör vilka utbildningar som ska utlysas och när. Utbildningar på grund- och avancerad nivå ska, förutom vissa undantag, utlysas via antagning.se/universityadmissions.se. Fakulteterna lägger in utbudet i Lubas enligt tidplan. Därefter kontrollerar antagningsavdelningen utbudet. När det är klart blir utbildningarna sökbara på antagning.se och/eller universityadmissions.se, och anmälnin

Hematopoietic Stem Cell Development Laboratory

Woods Group Our ResearchHematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) are rare cells in the body that possess the ability to generate vast numbers of a multitude of specialised blood cell types required for our survival. HSCs are first generated in the early embryo and undergo a series of maturation processes that ultimately give rise to their key adult features of self-renewal, blood cell generation, and trans

Evangelium Cyrillicum Gothoburgense : A Codicological, Palaeographical, Textological and Linguistic Study of a Church Slavonic Tetraevangel

Evangelium Cyrillicum Gothoburgense, ECG, a tetraevangel treasured in Göteborg University Library, has been studied from several aspects. A codicological study showed that the MS bears signs of earlier restoration and that some leaves are missing at the beginning and at the end. The watermark is a "boar", and the date of ECG is believed to be 1605-1625 on the basis of an identical watermark in ano

Arthropod populations in a sub-arctic environment facing climate change over a half-century : variability but no general trend

Dramatic declines of some arthropod populations have recently received a lot of attention. Identified declines have mainly been attributed to changes in agriculture, climate, pathogen prevalence and light pollution, as well as cross-regional effects of, e.g., drifting pesticides. However, the overall picture is complex and debated, and there is a need for systematically collected long-term data, n

Mellan åsikt och vittnesbörd : Amerika och Västerlandets arkaiska rötter

The question of America’s cultural position in relation to the rest of the world is essential for all research connected to America and to the history of modern Europe. This situation has become obvious over the last years because of our societies’ latest “crisis”, with the consecration of the “post-modern” and “global” view of society, history and culture. The aim of the dissertation is to analys

Reflections on socialism in the twenty-first century : Facing market liberalism, rising inequalities and the environmental imperative

In this volume, the authors reflect on the question “what is socialism” as it pertains to today’s economy. There is particular emphasis on democratic socialism models as a potential alternative to classic authoritarian socialism. A number of topical questions are addressed such as: What is democratic socialism and is it feasible, or even viable? What can be learnt from existing democratic socialis

Assessing the Impact of Sida’s Funding Withdrawal on Cambodia’s Education System: Challenges and Adaptations

This study explores the perceived significance of Sida’s funding in Cambodia’s education sector and how education-related organisations have adapted to the financial shortfall following Sida’s withdrawal. Drawing on Resource Dependence Theory (RDT), the research highlights the critical role Sida played as a valued donor, supporting a wide range of educational initiatives from primary to higher edu

Pregnancy planning and lifestyle prior to conception and during early pregnancy among Danish women

Objective To investigate the extent to which Danish women attending antenatal care plan their pregnancies and to determine the association between pregnancy planning and the intake of folic acid, alcohol consumption and smoking habits prior to conception and before the 16th week of gestation. Methods A cross-sectional survey of 258 women. Main outcome measures: intake of folic acid, alcohol consum

Hur demokratiska är miljöpolitiska styrmedel?

The democratic implications of environmental policy instruments, is a complex matter of theoretical and normative questions, this paper aims to explore. The purpose is to analyse how different governance tools like regulatory and market-based instruments, relate to central democratic values in environmental policymaking. Rather than treating policy instruments as neutral technical tools, the study

Estimation of required beach nourishment volumes along the south coast of Sweden during 2017–2100

How visual ergonomics interventions influence health and performance - with an emphasis on non-computer work tasks

Visual ergonomics evaluations and interventions were performed on non-computer work tasks at recycling facilities, post sorting facilities and operating theatres. The results can to some extent be applicable to other professions and workplaces. The purpose of the research was to investigate the effects of visual ergonomics interventions on eyestrain, musculoskeletal discomfort, headache, and visua

Macro-Geometric Defects, A numerical and experimental study of springback and surface defects

Today, shortened lead-times in the automotive industry have dramatically increased the need for more efficient development methods at every stage of the process development chain. In order to decrease the long lead-time for producing a forming tool, sheet-metal-forming simulation was introduced. Even though sheet-metal-forming simulation is widely used in the automotive industry today, there are s

Who is Marching for Pachamama? : An Intersectional Analysis of Environmental Struggles in Bolivia under the Government of Evo Morales

Evo Morales and the Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS) took office in Bolivia in 2006, riding on the wave of fierce popular protests against previous, neoliberal regimes. Morales was depicted as the country’s first indigenous president. His government promised a radical transformation of national politics and rebranded Bolivia as a “plurinational state”. Under MAS, indigenous subjectivity has moved fr

Laser Diagnostics in Combustion - Elastic Scattering and Picosecond Laser-Induced Fluorescence

Elastic scattering and the Lorenz-Mie (LM) theory in particular is used for the characterization of sub-micron- and micron-sized droplets of organic fuels in sprays and aerosols. Calculations on the Lorenz- Mie theory show that backward-sideward scattered visible radiation can be used for unambiguous detection of ensembles of homogeneous droplets of organic substances with diameters around 1 micro

Pentose utilization in yeasts: Physiology and biochemistry

The fermentative performance of bacteria, yeasts, and filamentous fungi was investigated in a pentose (xylose)-rich lignocellulosic hydrolyzate. The filamentous fungus Fusarium oxysporum and the xylose-fermenting yeast Pichia stipitis were found to be very sensitive to the inhibiting hydrolyzate. Recombinant xylose-utilizing Saccharomyces cerevisiae showed very poor ethanol formation from xylose;

Design and Evaluation of Compact Multi-antennas for Efficient MIMO Communications

The use of multi-antenna systems with multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology will play a key role in providing high spectrum efficiency for next generation mobile communication systems. This thesis offers valuable insights on the design of compact multi-antennas for efficient MIMO communications. In the course of the thesis work, several novel six-port antenna designs have been proposed
