A strategy for control of the glucose feed rate in cultivationsof E.coli is discussed. By making probing pulses in the feed rate it is possible to detect and avoid a characteristic saturation linked to undesirable by-product formation. A simplification of a previous algorithm is presented and analyzed.
This thesis presents my research journey in the Department of Chemical Physics,Lund University. Multidimensional fluorescence polarization imaging is used to study single LH2s. The method uses linearly polarized excitation light and the emission is detected through a polarizer. The multidimensionality is achieved by rotating the excitation and detection polarizations which enables the construction
Since the early 1960s, the internationally acclaimed and highly distinguished Swedish geographer Gunnar Olsson has made substantial contributions to his own discipline. In addition, because of the transgressive nature of his work and writing, which often borders to art and philosophy, his ideas and approaches have reached a wider audience of those interested in the history and geography of ideas,
Pheromones are intraspecific chemical signals serving as a ubiquitous form of communication, particularly among insects. Female sex-pheromone signals act as the core constituent in the specialized odour-mediated moth mate-recognition system. Female moths typically release multicomponent mixtures of alcohols, aldehydes or acetates. The biosynthetic machinery controlling pheromone production compris
Electron injection from the excited state of the chromophore perylene was time- resolved for different anchor groups on the surface of anatase TiO2. A modulation of the electron transfer rate was ascribed to the motion of a vibrational wavepacket.
