Interference-Free OFDM Embedding of Wake-Up Signals for Low-Power Wake-Up Receivers
The use of ultra-low power wake-up receivers (WuRx) can significantly reduce idle listening energy cost. To tailor a WuRx scheme to orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based systems, such as LTE-MTC or IEEE 802.11, the wake-up signal (WUS) also needs to follow OFDM principles to avoid interfering with other transmissions in the same shared bandwidth. Here, we address this particular
The effects of Cernitin® on inflammatory parameters and benign prostatic hyperplasia : An in vitro study
The pollen extract Cernitin® is widely used for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and non-bacterial chronin prostatitis. However, little is known about the underlying molecular mechanisms to explain the clinical effects of Cernitin®. In this study, we sought to investigate the cellular mechanisms by which Cernitin® induces its effects on human prostatic cell lines BPH-1 and WPMY-1 an

Enhanced E1 transition between weakly-bound excited states in the nucleus Ne 27
Inspired by the recently-reported strong electric-dipole (E1) transition between the weakly-bound first and second excited states, 3/2- at 765 keV and 1/2+ at 885 keV, in the nucleus Ne171027, the E1 transition is estimated in a model by properly taking into account the effect of both deformation and weakly-bound neutrons. In addition to both the spin-parities, 1/2+ and 3/2-, and observed nearly d
Factors associated with non-Attendance at exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation
Background: Despite its well-established positive effects, exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation (exCR) is underused in patients following an acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The aim of the study was to identify factors associated with non-Attendance at exCR in patients post-AMI in a large Swedish cohort. Methods: A total of 31,297 patients who have suffered an AMI, mean age 62.4 ± 4 years, were
Vitamin D receptor expression in invasive breast tumors and breast cancer survival
Background: Vitamin D has been suggested to prevent and improve the prognosis of several cancers, including breast cancer. We have previously shown a U-shaped association between pre-diagnostic serum levels of vitamin D and risk of breast cancer-related death, with poor survival in patients with the lowest and the highest levels respectively, as compared to the intermediate group. Vitamin D exerts
Lithium-ion conducting molecular composites prepared by Yamamoto polymerization
Solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) are promising alternatives to the flammable liquid electrolytes that are currently used in most commercial lithium-ion batteries. Because the transport of ions occurs through segmental motions of the polymer, ionic conductivity typically decreases as the mechanical strength of the SPE increases [1]. Much research has been devoted to the use of microphase separatio
Macromolecular design and synthesis of hydroxide conducting membranes with high alkaline stability
Today extensive research efforts are devoted to the synthesis and studies of durable anion exchange membranes (AEMs) with the aim to develop alkaline fuel cells and electrolyzers that are able to operate efficiently without platinum group metal catalysts [1]. One of the great challenges is to design and synthesize polymeric AEM materials with high OH– conductivity and the necessary stability under
Molecular design of ether-free anion exchange membranes: effects on ion conductivity and alkaline stability
The development of durable and high-performance anion exchange membranes (AEMs) that allow production of inexpensive and efficient alkaline fuel cells and electrolyzers is currently attracting attention. These devices will work in tandem with environmentally friendly intermittent energy sources, such as solar and wind. Today, achieving both a high OH− conductivity and a sufficient stability at ele

Utilization of Andean grain flours in the development of wheat flour dough
Bread dough was studied in relation to three Andean grain flours, quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa), amaranth (Amaranthus caudatus) and canahua (Chenopodium pallidicaule), as partial replacements for wheat flour with the perspectives of dough and breadmaking. This thesis deals with the understanding of both dough as a complex system, consisting of various water-filled polymers, and dough as a viscoelast
Free Ports for Art: Special Tax Zones as Cultural Policy Incentives?
A free port for art is a location in a country with purpose-built art facilities where imported works of art may be stored without taxes such as value added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), consumption tax, transaction taxes and customs duties. As long as the art does not leave the free port, such taxes are not imposed, hence the word “free”. These free ports could be regarded as special t
Genetically Determined Risk of Depression and Functional Outcome After Ischemic Stroke
Background and Purpose- Psychosocial factors can have implications for ischemic stroke risk and recovery. This study investigated the effect of genetically determined risk of depression on these outcomes using the Mendelian randomization (MR) framework. Methods- Genetic instruments for risk of depression were identified in a discovery genome-wide association study of 246 363 cases and 561 190 cont
The Earth System Governance Project as a network organization : a critical assessment after ten years
The social sciences have engaged since the late 1980s in international collaborative programmes to study questions of sustainability and global change. This article offers an in-depth analysis of the largest long-standing social-science network in this field: the Earth System Governance Project. Originating as a core project of the former International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environm
Translocalising and Relocalising Antifascist Struggles : From #KämpaShowan to #KämpaMalmö
This article explores the translocal hybrid activism surrounding two demonstrations triggered by a violent altercation between antifascists and neo‐Nazis in Malmö in March 2014. It maps the appearance and spread of the hashtag that underpinned this activism: #KämpaShowan. It also considers how the hashtag was articulated, adopted and adapted by different activists in ways that led to the emergenceThis article explores the translocal hybrid activism surrounding two demonstrations triggered by a violent altercation between antifascists and neo-Nazis in Malmö in March 2014. P. J. Welinder and “American Syndicalism” in Interwar Sweden

Electronic structure of boron doped hopg : Selective observation of carbon and trace dope boron by means of x-ray emission and absorption spectroscopy∗
We have measured the soft X-ray absorption and emission spectra of near B-K and C-K absorption edges of highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) doped with a small amount (0.32 at.%) of boron (B), including incident/takeoff angle dependence. The main peak intensities at the B-K edge around 182 eV were almost independent on the change of takeoff angle. On the other hand, the satellite peak around 1
