Tumor markers. Consensus Conference on Diagnosis and Prognostic Parameters in Localized Prostate Cancer. Stockholm, Sweden, May 12-13, 1993

This chapter mainly deals with biochemical aspects on prostate specific antigen (PSA) and its clinical value. To a limited extent, also other tumor markers, which might be of importance in the evaluation of patients with prostate cancer are discussed. In serum, PSA exists in a free form or bound to antichymotrypsin. Interestingly, only 10% of PSA secreted from cancer cells seems to exist in a free

Tiarp Backgården. An Early Neolithic Dolmen in Falbygden, Sweden and Early Megalithic Tombs in South Scandinavia and Northern Central Europe

The excavation of the simple dolmen at Tiarp, Falbygden, dating to around 3500 BCE, has provided important information for the understanding of the megalithic and early TRB in southern Scandinavia and northern Central Europe. The absolute chronological dating shows that dolmens were erected at about the same time between Falbygden and Altmark, before the main passage grave architectural phase. Alt

Ground geophysical measurements made on mine-tailings in Sweden. Case studies and lessons learnt

Ground-based geophysical surveys were conducted at eight mine-tailings repositories during 2021 and 2022 to help preparing an inventory of potential sources of critical raw materials in mine-waste. Geophysical methods included ERT, DCIP, RMT, and tTEM. In this study, we show results obtained on two of the sites as an example. Integration of models of electrical properties, geological observations,

High capacity city transport with intelligent access - A Swedish case study of transporting excavated material

This project studies how the HCT-concept (High Capacity Transport) can be applied in cities, by performing pilots in Varberg and Stockholm. The project will test the hypothesis that the HCT-concept will improve both productivity construction and transport efficiency and thereby reduce CO2 by up to 40%. The pilots include tests of new optimized trucks and new concepts with sensors in trucks, machin
