Characterization of process streams in TMP and CTMP pulp mills
Samples of process streams were withdrawn at various positions at one groundwood, four thermomechanical (TMP) and two chemical thermomechanical (CTMP) lines in four different pulp mills. Samples were divided in fractions by size exclusion chromatography (SEC). Concentration of sugars in each fraction was determined by high-performance anion exchange chromatography. The separate, but close response

Why internal validity is not prior to external validity: Paper presented at PSA 2012
In Persson & Wallin (2012) we show that the common claim that internal validity should be understood as prior to external validity has, at least, three epistemologically problematic aspects: experimental artefacts, the implications of causal relations, and how the mechanism is measured. Each aspect demonstrates how important external validity is for the internal validity of the experimental re

Mapping and Scheduling of Dataflow Graphs - A Systematic Map
Dataflow is a natural way of modelling streaming applications, such as multimedia, networking and other signal processing applications. In order to cope with the computational and parallelism demands of such streaming applications, multiprocessor systems are replacing uniprocessor systems. Mapping and scheduling these applications on multiprocessor systems are crucial elements for efficient implem

”Föräldrar” blir i undersökninThe aim of this study is to analyze how mothers with children placed in Swedish juvenile homes interpret, define and perceive, on the one hand, the project “Motverka Våld och Gäng” meaning “Counteract Violence and Gangs”, and on the other hand the role of the Coordinators employed in this project. The mothers who were interviewed spoke about some Coordinators that they appreciated. They then pain

Fabrication of Functional Molecularly Imprinted Materials using Nanoparticle Building Blocks
Popular Abstract in Undetermined Nanoparticles have attracted great interest in biomedicine and material science due to their unique and unconventional properties. Polymer nanoparticles containing pre-designed molecular recognition sites can be synthesized using molecular imprinting technique. Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) have high affinity and selectivity that are similar to antibodies,Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) have attracted great interest in many applications including bioseparation, chemical sensing, catalysis, drug delivery, etc. Recently, molecularly imprinted nanoparticles have become accessible due to a number of synthetic methods that have been developed. The high molecular binding selectivity, fast binding kinetics and colloidal stability make MIP nanopartic

Time-varying generalisations of the gap and ν-gap metrics induce the same topology in continuous time
Recent robust stability analysis results for linear time-varying feedback interconnections are based on a time-varying generalisation of the nu-gap metric. The causality of closed-loop mappings is dealt with explicitly, rather than via well-posedness assumptions as is common in the literature. Here, an alternative time-varying gap metric is defined. It is shown that this gives rise to correspondin
