Intersectional Invisibility at the Intersection of Gender and Sexual Orientation : Heterosexual Gender Prototypes
Two studies conducted in Sweden tested predictions from the intersectional invisibility hypothesis for groups at the intersection of gender and sexual orientation. Results show that gender prototypes include an assumed heterosexual orientation, and that representations of sexual minority groups include a more complex interplay of gender and sexual orientation.
