I am a doctoral student in linguistics and I am particularly interested in the relation between speech and gesture in discourse. My current work includes studies on the production and comprehension of bimodal narrative discourse in German, focusing on co-speech gestures’ cohesive functions. Before coming to Lund, I completed my Master’s degree in linguistics (cum laude) at Radboud University Nijmegen, Netherlands. My Master's thesis dealt with the co-ordination of speech and gesture in reference tracking, focusing on the cohesive function of gestural viewpoint. In Nijmegen, I was also employed as a student research assistant, and completed an internship at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics. Both positions were related to the topic of speech-gesture co-ordination. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in cultural studies (with majors in linguistics and comparative social sciences) at the European University Viadrina, Frankfurt (Oder), Germany.
