Beskrivning
Students read approximately 30 pages of Arabic newspaper texts on this course. The texts are analysed with particular regard to grammar, vocabulary and practical language proficiency. The course focuses on newspaper texts from Arabic newspapers demanding a vocabulary of 2,000 words. The course offers further active training in the reading of and listening to Arabic in the mass media via radio/television and/or via the internet. The use of Arabic dictionaries is practiced. The course consists of the study of texts with a focus on everyday situations and Arab culture using a gradually extended vocabulary (approx. 2,500 words). The course provides the students with active training in their ability to understand and use Arabic in various contexts and to read and write texts of a varying nature, in which grammar is practiced. Written and oral proficiency, writing skills and reading comprehension are considered as important as translation from and to Arabic. The course focuses on further developing the student s ability to communicate in moderately difficult and everyday situations.

First or Second Admission Round?
All international students are encouraged to apply to the First admission round. This round takes place many months before the start of a semester and gives students the time they need to pay their tuition fees, apply for and receive their residence permit (if required), find housing, etc.
The Second admission round is an alternative for students from EU/EEA countries as they do not need a residence permit. Non-EU/EEA students will most likely not have enough time to obtain their permit before the start of the semester. However, even EU/EEA students are advised to apply during the First admission round, as some programmes can be applied for only in the January round. Also, this provides applicants with an admission decision much earlier, which is helpful in making decisions about their studies.
