Publication in mol neurobiol

Strengths and limitations of the neurosphere culture system The Neurosphere Culture System Various methods with slight variations in protocol exist for establishing and expanding neurosphere cultures. Generally, neurospheres are derived from a single-cell suspension of neural stem and progenitor cells isolated from the adult or fetal central nervous system (CNS), but neurosphere cultures can also

DutaFabs are engineered therapeutic Fab fragments that can bind two targets simultaneously

We report the development of a platform of dual targeting Fab (DutaFab) molecules, which comprise two spatially separated and independent binding sites within the human antibody CDR loops: the so-called H-side paratope encompassing HCDR1, HCDR3 and LCDR2, and the L-side paratope encompassing LCDR1, LCDR3 and HCDR2. Both paratopes can be independently selected and combined into the desired bispecifWe report the development of a platform of dual targeting Fab (DutaFab) molecules, which comprise two spatially separated and independent binding sites within the human antibody CDR loops: the so-called H-side paratope encompassing HCDR1, HCDR3 and LCDR2, and the L-side paratope encompassing LCDR1, LCDR3 and HCDR2. Molecular dynamics-based characterisation of early oxide in Fe/Cr alloys

The addition of Cr is known to work as an effective prevention against oxidation in Fe-based alloys. This can be attributed to the peripheral oxide, the structure of which is dependent on the composition of the alloy. Using Molecular Dynamic (MD) calculations with a Reactive Force Field (ReaxFF) potential, we successfully identify several oxide structures arising during initial oxide formation in The addition of Cr is known to work as an effective prevention against oxidation in Fe-based alloys. Operationalizing Project Success Criteria through Control Degree

This study explores the control degree in success criteria operationalization. A literature review reveals that control degree relates to two patterns operationalizing success criteria: one directed to measurement and measure selection; the other directed to operationalization through the conceptualization of a relationship between a specific factor and project success. Evidence for health promotion in hospitals

More than a decade ago the WHO Health Promoting Hospitals project was initiated in order to support hospitals towards placing greater emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention, rather than on diagnostic and curative services alone. Twenty hospitals in eleven European countries participated in the European pilot project from 1993 to 1997. Since then, the International Network of Health Pr

Sustainability and EU Migration Law : What Place for Migrants' Rights?

Sustainable migration is the new objective of EU migration law, a term whose meaning and legal implications are unclear. Through a critical historical study of different areas of EU migration law, this book explores whether and how the past can guide the way for a contemporary understanding of sustainable migration, and it reveals the potentials and limits of this novel objective.

Post hoc interventions and the General Data Protection Regulation

Post hoc interventions rely on having access to certain personal data - such as the gender, age, ethnicity, and sexual orientation of the persons being evaluated - in order to detect and correct for prejudice. This brings these interventions into possible tension with pertinent data protection legislation, which might restrict the processing of said data. We discuss the compatibility of post hoc iPost hoc interventions rely on having access to certain personal data - such as the gender, age, ethnicity, and sexual orientation of the persons being evaluated - in order to detect and correct for prejudice. Phytoglobins: Elucidation of Structural, Functional and Practical Features of Non-Symbiotic Plant Hemoglobins

Phytoglobins (Pgb) (plant hemoglobins) are heme-containing proteins and less well known in comparison to the mammalian counterparts hemoglobin (Hb) andmyoglobin (Mb). They share the same secondary structure as other globin-related proteins, six to eight α-helices comprising the myoglobin-fold (Mb-fold) with one prosthetic heme moiety per subunit. Pgbs are divided into different classes, where the Phytoglobins (Pgb) (plant hemoglobins) are heme-containing proteins and less well known in comparison to the mammalian counterparts hemoglobin (Hb) andmyoglobin (Mb). Fast-track Sociology? Reflections on Research During a Pandemic

When the coronavirus spread globally in early 2020, many governments issued national lock downs of schools, institutions, and businesses. As the epidemic turned into a pandemic, the health crisis also became a societal crisis, and many universities and research foundations issued COVID-19 grants to study the societal implications of the crisis. In this article, we discuss sociological research dur

Benchmarking Medical Research - Aggregating Publications using Medical Subject Headings (MeSH-terms)

As the interest in research performance analysis using bibliometrics increases, more specialised tools are developed. In cases when verified publication data is not available; data is normally collected and aggregated using subject or organisational criteria. The journal subject areas in Thomson Reuters/ISI are often used, but can be poor in their precision and granularity. In an attempt to improv

Data set on sedimentology, palaeoecology and chronology of Middle to Late Pleistocene deposits on the Taimyr Peninsula, Arctic Russia
