Accessibility on our premises
Outdoor tactile paving guides visually impaired people to the entrances of the SOL building. This connects to the indoor tactile flooring. These entrances provide easy access to lifts and ramps leading to the various parts of the building. Lifts are located in Absalon, Humanisten and Lingvisten. The lift in Lingvisten is accessed from the foyer. The second floor of Lingvisten and Humanisten is served by the lifts in both Lingvisten and Humanisten.
Accessible restrooms
• Accessible toilets are available in Absalon, Humanisten, Lingvisten and the Library Building on most floors.
• Accessible toilets are usually located near entrances, lifts, main corridors or student areas.
• The SOL Library has accessible toilets on every floor. They are available during the library’s opening hours.
• Some corridors are only available during the day on weekdays whilst term is in session. The doors between the buildings and the lifts are locked at 7.00 p.m. (Monday–Thursday) and at 5.00 p.m. (Friday) whilst term is in session.
Absalon
Take the lift in Absalon to floor 0. The accessible toilet (SOL:A039) is immediately to the left of the lift.
The Library Building
Take the lift in Absalon to floor 0. Turn left as you exit the lift, into the Library Building. The accessible toilet (SOL:B018) is on the right.
Alternatively: Take the lift in Humanisten, turn left and use the lift platform to go down. The accessible toilet (SOL:B018) is further ahead on the left.
There is an accessible toilet (SOL:A111) in the Absalon foyer.
The Library Building
An accessible toilet (SOL:B129b) is located on the right-hand side as you enter the SOL Library, past the stairs and around the corner. The toilet is available during the library’s opening hours.
Humanisten
From the entrance facing UB Park: turn left once inside the door. Pass the reception desk via the ramp. The accessible toilet (SOL:H103c) is on the left, next to lecture hall H140.
From the entrance facing the UB Park: turn left once inside the door. Pass the reception desk via the ramp and pass the double doors. The accessible toilet (SOL:H112) is on the left-hand side.
From the entrance by the auditorium: turn left just inside the door. Follow the corridor until just before the ramp. The accessible toilet (SOL:H103c) is on the right.
From the entrance by the auditorium: turn left just inside the door. Follow the corridor. The accessible toilet (SOL:H112) is on the right-hand side, before the double doors.
Lingvisten
From the entrance by the car park: turn left just inside the doors, into Lingvisten. The accessible toilet (SOL:L120c) is straight ahead.
From the entrance by the car park: turn left inside the doors, into Lingvisten. Turn left again and follow the corridor at the far end. The accessible toilet (SOL:L108a) is on the left, before the quiet reading areas.
From the entrance facing Sölvegatan: turn right just inside the door and then right again, into Lingvisten. The accessible toilet (SOL:L120c) is straight ahead.
From the entrance facing Sölvegatan: turn right inside the door and then right again, into Lingvisten. Turn left and follow the corridor at the far end. The accessible toilet (SOL:L108a) is on the left, before the quiet reading areas.
From the entrance facing UB Park: move straight ahead, diagonally to the left so that you pass the reception desk on your left. Then turn right into Lingvisten. The accessible toilet (SOL:L120c) is straight ahead.
From the entrance facing UB Park: move straight ahead, diagonally to the left so that you pass the reception desk on your left. Then turn right into Lingvisten. Turn left and follow the corridor to the far end. The accessible toilet (SOL:L108a) is on the left, before the quiet reading areas.
Absalon
Take the lift in Absalon to floor 2. Turn left once you’re in the corridor. The accessible toilet (SOL:A207) is on the left. The toilet is available on weekdays during term time.
The Library Building
Take the SOL Library lift to floor 2. The accessible toilet (SOL:B216) is on the right, past the stairs and round the corner. The toilet is available during the library’s opening hours.
Humanisten
Take the lift in Humanisten to floor 2. Turn left as you exit the lift and then immediately left into the corridor. The accessible toilet (SOL:H210) is on the left-hand side, past the double doors. The toilet is available on weekdays during term time (7.45 a.m.–5.00 p.m.).
Lingvisten
Take the lift in Lingvisten to floor 2. Turn left as you exit the lift. The accessible toilet (SOL:L210a) is at the far end of the corridor, on the left.
Absalon
Take the lift in Absalon to floor 3. Turn left once you’re in the corridor. The accessible toilet (SOL:A307) is on the left. The toilet is available on weekdays during term time.
The Library Building
Take the SOL Library lift to floor 3. The accessible toilet (SOL:B322) is on the right, past the stairs and round the corner. The toilet is available during the library’s opening hours.
Humanisten
Take the lift in Humanisten to floor 3. Turn left as you exit the lift and then immediately left into the corridor. The accessible toilet (SOL:H308) is on the left. The toilet is available on weekdays during term time, until 7.00 p.m.
Lingvisten
Take the lift in Lingvisten to floor 3. Turn left as you exit the lift. The accessible toilet (SOL:L305b) is at the far end of the corridor, on the left.
Absalon
Take the lift in Absalon to floor 4. Turn left into the corridor. The accessible toilet (SOL:A406) is on the left. The toilet is available on weekdays during term time, until 5.00 p.m.
The Library Building
Enter the SOL Library. Pass the reception desk and turn left into the stairwell. Take the lift to floor 4. The accessible toilet (SOL:B405) is to the right of the lift. Please note that this toilet is cramped.
Humanisten
Take the lift in Humanisten to floor 4. Turn left as you exit the lift and then immediately left into the corridor. The accessible toilet (SOL:H406) is on the left. The toilet is open on weekdays during term time, until 7.00 p.m.
Lingvisten
Take the lift in Lingvisten to floor 4. Turn left as you exit the lift. The accessible toilet (SOL:L406d) is at the far end of the corridor, on the left.
Humanisten

Take the lift in Lingvisten to floor 5. Turn left as you exit the lift. The accessible toilet (SOL:L505b) is at the far end of the corridor.
Floor 6
Take the lift in Lingvisten to floor 6. Turn right as you exit the lift. The accessible toilet (SOL:L618b) is on the left, opposite the stairwell.
Accessibility parking
Accessible parking is available in the courtyard between Lingvisten and Humanisten (enter from Helgonavägen) and next to the entrance from Sölvegatan.
Evacuation
In case of fire, the stairwells in both LUX and SOL constitute safe zones. These areas, known as evacuation sites, provide a place for people with impaired movement or orientation abilities to await help from the emergency services. You can find the locations of these sites on the evacuation plans. There are also signs with instructions at the sites. If you help someone to a safe zone or see someone in one, please inform a member of the evacuation organisation (they are wearing yellow vests), the security officer or a member of the emergency services.

Hearing loops
Hearing loops are available in the main auditorium (SOL:H104) and SOL:A129b.
You can borrow a portable hearing loop from the IT unit in other lecture halls. Please ask your teacher if you need one.
If you need a portable hearing loop for a public event, please make sure to contact the organizer well in advance.
Portable hearing loops can be collected from the IT Unit during opening hours, which are Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. You can contact the IT Unit by email or by phone on +46 46 222 32 30.
SOL Library
There are two lifts in the SOL Library. To reach the third floor (where the AV Room and two quiet reading rooms are located), you will need to change lifts. Please ask at the information desk if you need assistance.
The library has three quiet study rooms, one of which is a computer-free zone.
Accessible toilets are available on all floors.
