Rovdjur med samvete
En kokbok är tydligen inte endast en handledning i den nyttiga, sköna eller hushållande matlagningskonsten, utan också en mordets encyklopedi.

Churches and population in the Ystad area: A study of the relationship between church architecture and population size from around 1100 to the present day.
Growth factors and feeder cells promote differentiation of human embryonic stem cells into dopaminergic neurons: a novel role for fibroblast growth factor-20.
Human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) are a potential source of dopaminergic neurons for treatment of patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). Dopaminergic neurons can be derived from hESCs and display a characteristic midbrain phenotype. Once transplanted, they can induce partial behavioral recovery in animal models of PD. However, the potential research field faces several challenges that need to be

Time-resolved Spectroscopic Studies of the 7p 2p States of Neutral Silver Following Vuv Excitation
The radiative lifetimes of the 7 p2P3/2, 1/2 states of silver and the hyperfine structure of the 7 p2P3/2 state have been measured using pulsed laser excitation and direct observation of the induced fluorescence light decay. In order to excite this doublet, VUV radiation at 185 nm was applied, as generated by frequency tripling and anti-Stokes Raman shifting of the output of a Nd: YAG laser pumped
Dynamics of the shake-up satellites of C 1s excited carbon dioxide studied by threshold electron spectroscopy
Absolute cross sections of new and previously observed C 1s shake-up satellites of CO2 have been measured using threshold photoelectron spectroscopy in the photon energy range 306-320 eV. The electron dynamics involved in this process are elucidated by identifying the satellites with ionic states of CO2+ and NO2+ via a qualitative `frozen core' argument, allowing timescales of the C 1s hole decay
Intraabdominal Pressure and Postoperative Discomfort in Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (RYGB) Surgery: a Randomized Study.
High intraabdominal pressure (IAP) during laparoscopic surgery has been associated with postoperative discomfort. Effects on nausea and access have not been subjected to randomized studies. In cholecystectomy, lower IAP may cause less pain, but nausea and surgical access in RYGB surgery have not been investigated. We studied the influence of two IAP levels on surgical access, operation time, posto

This study tested the hypothesis that the use of the computer is not a decisive factor in the development of linguistic skills in a communicative language class making use of different methods. The three aspects analysed were the effect of the computer on the general linguistic progress of a group and of individuals and also on separate linguistic skills. A quasi-experiment was designed to collect
Gene expression in nasal lavage from hairdressers exposed to persulphate.
OBJECTIVES: Many hairdressers experience work-related symptoms from the airways caused by bleaching powder. This contains persulphates, which could be irritating to the mucous membrane and also may evoke an allergic reaction. However, specific IgE antibodies are difficult to detect. We found earlier that hairdressers with work-related bleaching powder-associated nasal symptoms reacted to persulpha

Weak convergence of high level crossings and maxima for one or more Gaussian processes
Weak convergence of the multivariate point process of upcrossings of several high levels by a stationary Gaussian process is established. The limit is a certain multivariate Poisson process. This result is then used to determine the joint asymptotic distribution of heights and locations of the highest local maxima over an increasing interval. The results are generalized to upcrossings and local ma

Accelerometer response to physical activity intensity in normal-weight versus overweight african american children.
BACKGROUND: Different movement efficiency in overweight children may affect accelerometer output data. The purpose was to investigate the ability of accelerometers to assess physical activity intensity and number of steps in normal-weight compared with overweight children. METHODS: Eleven normal-weight and 14 overweight African American children walked at 2, 4, 5, and 6 km/h on a treadmill wearin
Altered matrix production in the distal airways of individuals with asthma.
BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Although increasing evidence suggests involvement of the distal airway in all stages of asthma, it is not known whether structural changes (defined as airway remodelling) occur in the distal airways of subjects with mild asthma and those with atopy. The aim of this study was to compare control subjects and those with mild asthma in relation to fibroblast phenotypes and remodel
