Intruding the Border: Geopolitics and Cinema Across the Shen-Kong Border
Thursday March 19, 1515 pm, Room SOL: H205c. Joule Wang presents a dissertation chapter: Intruding the Border: Geopolitics and Cinema Across the Shen-Kong Border. Introduction and discussion by Astrid Møller-Olsen, sinologist and currently Carlsberg Research Fellow, Copenhagen University.
Astrid Møller-Olsen is a literary scholar, translator and expert in Chinese language and Sinophone culture. She holds a PhD in Chinese literature from Lund University and an MA in comparative literature from the University of Copenhagen, and has also spent time at both Peking University and Fudan University in China. Her work focuses on contemporary Chinese and Sinophone fiction, translation, narrative theory and urban memory, and she has taught courses in Chinese history, culture and literature. Astrid is the author of Sensing the Sinophone: Urban Memoryscapes in Contemporary Fiction (Cambria Press, 2022) and contributes translations of Sinophone literature into Danish. She is currently a Carlsberg Research Fellow at the University of Copenhagen and maintains the blog 小说 XIAOSHUO 小說, where she writes about Chinese literary and cultural topics.
