Detta i kombination med deFinancial markets have a central role in a well-working society and a bank has a central role on a well-functioned financial market. Monitoring the standard – here, now and in person : Detecting accessibility faults as an engaged citizen

This chapter analyses volunteer work for identifying and reporting accessibility faults in urban settings. By looking closely at how people monitor adherence to the accessibility standards of laws and human rights, it is possible to recognise and understand their concrete fight against exclusion and discrimination. The author uses ethnographic data from go-alongs with two ‘accessibility detectives

Deconstructing North Sámi sensive verbs

North Sámi has a class of derived verbs called sensive verbs. Descriptively, these verbs are formed by adding the suffix /ʃ/ to an adjectival or nominal base, and the resulting verb means ‘find [object] (too) ADJECTIVE/NOUN’. In this paper it is argued that the sensive verbs do not involve any psychological verb, and the suffix is not specified as “sensive” in the lexicon. FashioNordic : Folk costume as performance of genealogy and place

This article elaborates on the embodiment of heritage via dressing practices in several rural and urban Nordic communities in the United States. Getting dressed is a shared human practice that we engage in and repeat most days, and for special occasions, traditional dress, or folk costume, comes into particular focus. I approach dressing in folk costume as a “situated embodied practice,” a mode of

DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS A nationwide, open-label, 2-period, 2-sequence, cluster randomized, crossover clinical trial usi

Student Podcasts in the Anthropocene

In this article, we argue for the value of student podcasts for fostering dialogue around questions of poetry and sustainable futures in an English as a foreign language context. Our research draws on our experiences of inviting student teachers to create their own podcasts on a recently published poem about nature or the Anthropocene, or both, in our first-year literature course for those studyin

Tolkning och tillämpning av principen om barnets bästa - En granskning av 2025 års lagändring i 6 kap. 2 a § FB

Barnets bästa är en rättighet i artikel 3.1 i barnkonventionen. Svensk rätt fast-slår barnets bästa i 6 kap. 2 a § FB.

Clinical characterization of individuals with obesity but normal blood pressure and heart function - a descriptive study from the SCAPIS cohort

However, some individuals with obesity do not exhibit signs of HF or AH.PurposeThis study aimed to compare, for the first time in a large population-based cohort, individuals with obesity who have normal left ventricular function and remo

Justice from Below : Struggles Against Corporate Misconduct in the National Contact Point System

For victims of corporate harm, accessing justice in the global landscape is fraught with challenges and limitations – but also contestation and conflict. This paper focuses on these issues by directing attention to the National Contact Points (NCPs), a nonjudicial grievance mechanism in this landscape. It explores the puzzle of why complainants, who portray the NCP as a mechanism that is unlikely

Molecular Function of TCF7L2: Consequences of TCF7L2 Splicing for Molecular Function and Risk for Type 2 Diabetes.

TCF7L2 harbors the variant with the strongest effect on type 2 diabetes (T2D) identified to date, yet the molecular mechanism as to how variation in the gene increases the risk for developing T2D remains elusive. The phenotypic changes associated with the risk genotype suggest that T2D arises as a consequence of reduced islet mass and/or impaired function, and it has become clear that TCF7L2 plays

Tired of Diabetes Genetics? Circadian Rhythms and Diabetes: The MTNR1B Story?

Circadian rhythms are ubiquitous in biological systems and regulate metabolic processes throughout the body. Misalliance of these circadian rhythms and the systems they regulate has a profound impact on hormone levels and increases risk of developing metabolic diseases. Melatonin, a hormone secreted by the pineal gland, is one of the major signaling molecules used by the master circadian oscillato
