The purpose of this paper is to give a description of the communicativity in a foreign language classroom and also of students’ communicative behaviour. Since the beginning of the 80s communication has been widely discussed as one of the main features in instructed language learning. The focus on form, that traditionally has been dominant in the language classroom, was combined or even replaced by

In this paper, we incorporate the layered structure with low-density parity-check codes (LDPC) to develop a quasi-block diagonal LDPC space-time structure. The lower triangular structure of the parity check matrix introduces correlation between layers. In addition, each layer, as a part of the whole codeword, can be decoded while taking information from other undetected layers to improve the decod

This paper seeks to explain the persistence of inner-city deprivation in spite of sustained regeneration efforts, through demonstrating how urban regeneration policies are embedded in peculiar political-institutional power dynamics that actually contribute to the further disempowerment of the already disempowered groups in inner cities. The reconstruction of the post-war planning history of one sp

In this paper we present results from a outdoorto-indoor MIMO measurement campaign where we study the effect of repeaters on singular values, spatial richness, capacity, and delay spread distributions. We present results from different repeater scenarios such as, e.g. different outdoor/indoor repeater deployments with ngle/dual polarized antennas. The measurements show that repeaters significantly

Our present understanding of the terminating bands in the I=40-50 spin range of 157,158Er is reviewed briefly. It is only recently that it has been possible to study states at higher spin in these nuclei, beyond band termination. Firstly, a large number of weak high-energy transitions feeding the terminating states were observed. Secondly, some collective structures that extended discrete spect

Based on the combination of two regular Gallager (Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC)) codes, we will introduce a new code construction, called Chained Gallager codes. Following Gallager’s method we will derive a lower bound on the normalized minimum distance for the ensemble of Chained Gallager codes. Applying this lower bound on the normalized minimum distance to different transmissions schemes with

This paper presents a low-phase-noise differential bipolar Colpitts VCO, implemented in a 0.35/spl mu/m BiCMOS process. A time-variant phase noise analysis yields closed- form symbolic expressions for the dominant noise sources in the 1/f/sup 2/ phase-noise region. Measurements show a phase noise of -123 dBc/Hz at 1MHz offset from a 2.8-3.1 GHz carrier, for a figure-of-merit of 183 dBc/Hz. A very
