I båda fallen kan symptomen variera från lätta förkylningsbesvär till mycket svåra, ibland livshotande lunginflammationer. Infektion med MycoplasmaDiagnostic tests based on nucleic acid amplification have become available for Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) and influenza viruses.
