Området som undersöktes i denna studie ligger i västra delen av Hamrångesynklinalen. I studien har bergarter, bergartsgränser och strukturer karterats i fält. Tunnslip undersöktes med optisk mikroskopi i avseende på petrografi och förekomst av mikrostrukturer. Flera av tunnslipen har punkträknats för bergartsklassificering.
