Applying a Multi-Model Ensemble Method for Long-Term Runoff Prediction under Climate Change Scenarios for the Yellow River Basin, China
Given the substantial impacts that are expected due to climate change, it is crucial that accurate rainfall–runoff results are provided for various decision-making purposes. However, these modeling results often generate uncertainty or bias due to the imperfect character of individual models. In this paper, a genetic algorithm together with a Bayesian model averaging method are employed to provide
Water and related electrical energy use in urban households—Influence of individual attributes in Beijing, China
Water and energy are intricately connected in households. The connections mainly appear in three types of residential behavior: bathing, cooking, and cleaning. This study investigated the features of water and related energy consumption in groups with different individual attributes and identified the key groups and types of behavior that correlate with water and energy conservation. A face-to-fac

Petrogenesis of Paleo-Mesoproterozoic mafic rocks in the southwestern Yangtze Block of South China : Implications for tectonic evolution and paleogeographic reconstruction
Three episodes of mafic magmatism are identified by zircon and baddeleyite U-Pb dating at 2299 ± 17 Ma, 1703 ± 8 Ma and 1511 ± 14 Ma in the southwestern Yangtze Block. These mafic rocks have tholeiitic compositions with enrichment of LILE but an absence of Nb, Ta, Zr, Hf anomalies, features similar to E-MORB. They have La/Ta (<22) and La/Nb (<1.5) ratios similar to asthenosphere-derived mafic melt

China 6 EGR gasoline vehicles without a GPF may struggle to meet the potential SPN10 limit
Particles larger than 10 nm from engine exhaust are gaining global concerns. In light of this, to investigate how EGR affects gasoline vehicle SPN10 (solid particles larger than 10 nm) emissions, seven gasoline vehicles (hybrid or conventional) were studied experimentally. The results revealed that EGR vehicles risk failing the current limit (6 * 1011 #/km) more than those without EGR if the cut-o
The US and China Should Push for an Ambitious Plastics Treaty
With the two nations taking steps towards a more harmonized agenda on climate change mitigation, we would expect these leading plastic producer countries to also show leadership in relation to plastics.

Revisiting the role of transpiration in the variation of ecosystem water use efficiency in China
Efforts to develop effective climate strategies necessitate a better understanding of the relationship between terrestrial water and carbon cycles. Water use efficiency (WUE) has been often used to characterize this relationship, while the role of transpiration (T) in the variation of ecosystem WUE has been less investigated. Here, we partitioned WUEET (the ratio of gross primary productivity (GPP
