Promoting public sector innovation: who does what, when and how?

A strong and prevailing innovation imperative is sweeping across the public sector and despite a growing literature on public sector innovation (PSI), the actors driving these processes tend to end up in the background of analysis. The impact of customer loyalty management on a two-sided market: The case of the newspaper industry

This paper intends to investigate the impact of the two-sided market effect with nearby theories, the importance of customer loyalty and customer relationship management in the newspaper industry. It takes its theoretical references from academic research literature and interviews with the focus on customer loyalty and customer relationship management in the two-sided market environment. The resu

Effektiviserad gränspolitik. En kritisk granskning av svensk och europeisk utvisningspolicy

Challenging the political system by its mere presence, the undocumented migrant has become the political figure of our time. The development of policy on migration and deportation in Sweden and Europe is indicative of our understanding of inclusion and exclusion from our social community. This thesis critically investigates the development of policies regulating undesirable migration in which rein

Estimering av likviditetspremien för realobligationer

Since the first issuance in 1994, Swedish Government inflation indexed bonds have given a higher return then their nominal counterpart. This is despite the fact that investors can reduce the risks of inflation. Findings on other markets, as the US bond market, suggest that the higher return can be explained by the lower liquidity of inflation indexed bonds relative the nominal bonds. The aim of th

Democratization and War - The Relation between Democratization and Conflicts in Georgia

This paper examines the relation between violent conflicts and democratization in Georgia. Since independence in 1991, Georgia has grown towards increased democratization but within the political transition, many obstacles, in form of violent conflicts and war have threatened the country. In the Democratization and War theory, Mansfield & Snyder argues that increased democracy increases the ri

EU Competence in the Area of Public Health: Complementary or Complete? The Case of Tobacco for Oral Use

This thesis evaluates the EU-level tobacco products regulation and the regulation of tobacco products for oral use, in particular. The evaluation includes a historical overview of the development of relevant secondary legislation and a more detailed analysis of the current regulatory state. Following the analysis of the Tobacco Products Directive as the main legal instrument in the European tobacc

Scrutinizing the cut-off for “pathological” meniscal body extrusion on knee MRI

Objectives: Medial meniscal body extrusion ≥ 3 mm on MRI is often considered “pathologic.” The aims of this study were to (1) assess the adequacy of 3 mm as cut-off for “pathological” extrusion and (2) find an optimal cut-off for meniscal extrusion cross-sectionally associated with radiographic knee osteoarthritis, bone marrow lesions (BMLs), and cartilage damage. Methods: Nine hundred fifty-eight

Attractive Patchy Protein Interactions : Understanding of protein dimerization

Protein interactions are important in understanding various protein relevant cellular and technological processes. This is a challenging task due to the intrinsically irregular shape and inhomogeneous surface distribution of neutral, charged, hydrophobic amino acid residues. This results inmore or less anisotropic interactions depending on external parameters such assalt and pH. However, a deeper uProtein interactions are important in understanding various protein relevant cellular and technological processes. This is a challenging task due to the intrinsically irregular shape and inhomogeneous surface distribution of neutral, charged, hydrophobic amino acid residues. New Public Management in a Scandinavian context

This chapter gives an overview of the main NPM reforms and trends in the Nordic countries. The idea of a uniform Scandinavian model of NPM is discussed – the chapter presents the different countries as members of a shared public administration tradition, albeit with different traits and particular reforms. Removal of Lysozyme from Methylated Silica Surfaces by a Nonionic Surfactant Pentaethyleneglycol Mono n-Dodecyl Ether (C12E5)

The removal of lysozyme adsorbed to a hydrophobic surface by a non-ionic surfactant, C12E5, was investigated using in situ ellipsometry. Both the adsorption and removal of protein were studied at different protein and surfactant concentrations. The surfaces used were methylated silica surfaces and the experiments were carried out at pH 5.6 in 0.01 M NaCl solution.
