Den så kallade multikanals-strategin myntades redan på 90-talet som ett sätt att beskriva återförsäljares användning av två eller mer kanaler för att sälja produkter och tjänster till kunder. I mitten på det första årtiondet började det här begreppet att evolvera på grund av framväxande diskussioner kring integration mellan säljkanalerna. Det här ledde till introduceringen av omni-kanalsstrategin.

Democratic theory and research have lately been criticized in several fields. A classic and contested question is the role of the working class in democracy and democratization. Yet, it has been overshadowed by elite strategies that have been at the core of the most influential analytical framework in regard to late twentieth-century transitions.
