We have implemented a non-null type checker for Java and a new non-null inferencing algorithm for analyzing legacy code. The tools are modular extensions to the JastAdd extensible Java compiler, illustrating how pluggable type systems can be achieved. 2-Bromoethyl glycosides can easily and in high yields be transformed into sulfones by treatment with a suitable thiol followed by oxidation with mCPBA. This article summarizes the status of the ATLAS detector and its commissioning as of autumn 2006, one year before the expected LHC start-up. The initial running scenarios and goals for B physics are presented for the foreseen pilot run with 900 GeV centre-of-mass energy in autumn 2007, as well as for the first physics run in 2008 at the nominal centre-of-mass energy of 14 TeV.
