Fc epsilon RI levels and frequencies of peripheral blood dendritic cell populations in allergic rhinitis

The dendritic cell (DC) lineage encompasses a diverse population of cells with unique subtype-specific functions. In peripheral blood, four DC subsets have been identified based on their distinct expression of CD1c, CD141, CD16, and CD123, and these subpopulations exhibit functional properties in immune responses. However, their respective roles in allergic diseases, such as rhinitis, are unclear.

Photon Upconversion in Heavily Doped Semiconductors

Popular Abstract in English Imagine a solar powered flash light. Each photon absorbed by the flash light’s solar cell creates electric energy and the flash light’s light source converts the electrical energy again into photons. The purpose of such a device may be questionable, because you would be surprised if it would create more light than what it absorbs. However, under certain conditions it isIn this thesis the luminescence properties of highly doped semiconductors are studied with focus on degenerately n-doped InP. It is demonstrated how photoluminescence measurements on degenerately doped semiconductors allow an estimation of the doping concentration without need for electrical contacts. The degenerate doping can furthermore reveal the conduction band structure for energies higher th

What Unpublished Archives Can Tell Us: Literature, History and the Work of the Library

19 februari 2026 15:15 till 16:00 | Föreläsning What do literary scholars do in library archives filled with unpublished manuscripts, drafts, and forgotten texts? This talk offers an inside view of how working with archival literary materials, especially short stories and fragmentary writings, can expand and enrich our understanding of history. Microvascular Complications and Predictors for Mortality in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes and Foot Ulcers

A diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a common and serious complication of diabetes. It is today the leading cause of amputations and is associated with both increased morbidity and mortality. Individuals with DFU have 2.5 times higher mortality rates compared to patients with diabetes but without DFU, a risk that persists even after ulcer healing. Indicator model for benchmarking the transition to a low carbon urban mobility system: Application results from three Scandinavian cities

Cities today consume over 80% of the world’s energy and are responsible for 75% of the total GHG emissions. Over 80% of the population in Europe live in Urban areas. The mobility system, being at the heart of urban activities is responsible for the movement of people, goods and services and is responsible for attracting investments into cities. Playing such a key role in urban development, the sec

Seal and Deal. Cloth Production and Trade between the Netherlands and Scania during the Late Middle Ages and Early Modern Times

During the 15th, 16th and 17th century many commodities were traded from east to west and vice versa through The Sound. One commodity of great importance was cloth. To these large quantities of cloth lead cloth seals were attached as a hallmark of quality control. In this study the cloth trade between the Netherlands and Scania during the Late Middle Ages and Early Modern Times is investigated for

Bottom-up methodology for assessing electrification options for deep decarbonisation of industrial processes

Industrial processes currently account for a signifcant share (25–35 %) of the world’s total energy demand and related emissions. During recent years, the amount of low-carbon electricity from renewable energy sources (such as wind and solar) has increased continuously. Tere is therefore an increasing interestin electrifcation of industrial processes in order to achieve long-term decarbonisation g

Fluids, Gels and Crystals : Phase behavior of binary thermoresponsive microgel mixtures

Particles that are a hundred- to ten thousand times smaller than the width of a hair are commonly referred to as colloidal particles. Colloidal particles occur in a variety of products, like foodstuffs (marmelade and dairy products), construction materials (cement) and stained glass. In water, these particles are strongly affected by the Brownian force: an force that was discovered in 1827 by the Thermoresponsive colloidal microgels expel solvent from their interior upon crossing a threshold temperature, resulting in a significantly reduced size. The collapse of microgels can reversibly switch the interparticle interactions from soft repulsive to attractive, and the accompanying size reduction allows for precise control over volume fraction. Mixing two microgels that collapse at different

Kritiska framgångsfaktorer i teknologiska förändringstider

Presently the telecom industry is going through a massive shift in technology. In the business to business environment regarding delivery and service of fixed telephony, the traditional circuit-switched PBX (private branch exchange) technology is successively replaced by a new Ip-based (Internet protocol) PBX technology. The new way of switching voice-calls doesn't demand a separate infrastruc

Is There Backward Generation in the Institutional Realm?

Over the last decade it has been pointed out by several philosophers that not all Status Function Declarations are synchronic: some such declarations are directed toward the absolute past. Such Status Function Declarations are perplexing if one is an ontic realist with respect to institutional properties and states of affairs. If successful, such Status Function Declarations seem to change the abs
