This paper aims to investigate whether there is a need for two regulations since Chapter 16 Section 9 of the Penal Code and the Discrimination Act from 2009 both regulate the same area of discrimination. The first regulation, Chapter 16 Section 9 of the Penal Code, regulates unlawful discrimination based on the grounds of race, colour, ethnic origin or sexual orientation. The second regulation, thUppsatsen syftar till att utreda om det finns ett behov av både 16 kap 9§ BrB och Diskrimineringslagen från år 2009 eftersom de behandlar samma diskrimineringsområde. 16 kap 9§ BrB reglerar olaga diskriminering baserat på ras, hudfärg, etnicitet och sexuell läggning.
