Laughing as participation: A textual analysis of the studio audience of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart
This small scale study or pilot case looks into how studio audiences participate; as well as how we can characterize the interaction between host and studio audience in political comedy. The case used is "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" (US), as it is widely popular but also has a following in Europe and Sweden. According to Corner et al (2013), political comedy includes satire, mocking, spoofing

Recoil Polarization for Delta Excitation in Pion Electroproduction
We measured angular distributions of recoil-polarization response functions for neutral pion electroproduction for W=1.23 GeV at Q2=1.0 (GeV/c)2, obtaining 14 separated response functions plus 2 Rosenbluth combinations; of these, 12 have been observed for the first time. Dynamical models do not describe quantities governed by imaginary parts of interference products well, indicating the need for a

Characterizing the mechanical properties of skin-core structure in polymer molding process by nanoindentation
Quality of the polymer product produced by injection molding process are strongly affected by the mechanical properties of the skin-core structure formed during injection molding operation. It is desirable to know the mechanisms of the skin-core structure and the influence from process parameters and material properties to the skin-core formation in the injection molding. This paper focuses on cha
Optimal Electromagnetic Measurements
We consider the problem of obtaining information about an inaccessible halfspace from electromagnetic measurements made in the accessible half-space. If the measurements are of limited precision, some scatterers will be undetectable because their scattered fields are below the precision of the measuring instrument. How can we make optimal measurements? In other words, what incident fields should we

Modeling of material behavior in metal forming
Bra With an increasing demand to improve efficiency and to cut costs, the industry is constantly seeking to reduce the time and money spent in product development and manufacturing. Use of computer-based simulations has become more or less a standard tool to meet this demand. Cost reduction is in this way made possible by for example shortened product development cycles, less need for expensive protot

References to book-titles in al-Mu'alajat al-Buqratiyya
This paper presents part of the results of a three-year project funded by the Swedish research Council. The project focusses a hitherto neglected Arabic medical encyclopedia from the 10th century: al-Mu'aladjat al-Buqratiya (Hippocratic treatment) attributed to Abu al-Hasan at-Tabari. The handbook, which comprises 700 pages and is extant only in handwritten form, can be expected to contribute subs
