Socioeconomic inequalities in all‐cause and cause‐specific mortality among patients with osteoarthritis in the Skåne region, Sweden
Objective: To assess the association between education and all-cause and cause-specific mortality among patients with osteoarthritis (OA) in comparison to an OA-free reference cohort. Methods: Using data from the Skåne healthcare register, we identified all residents aged ≥45 years in the region of Skåne, with doctor-diagnosed OA of peripheral joints between 1998 and 2013 (n=123,993). We created an
Gods, Spirits and Natural Hazards : Ontologies and Epistemologies of Natural Hazards and Climate Change in Kiribati and Papua New Guinea
Pacific Island countries are already experiencing severe impacts from climate change and these will likely increase in the future. In response, a plethora of climate change adaptation projects have been implemented across the region with the aim of assisting those most affected. Yet these projects have largely failed to reduce vulnerability to climate change in a meaningful way. This chapter addre

A Novel Method for Designing Fifth-Generation District Heating and Cooling Systems
District heating and cooling systems have been undergoing continuous development and have now reached the fifth-generation. In this innovative technology, connected buildings share local excess energy that otherwise would be wasted, which consequently reduces primary energy demands and carbon emissions. To date, the issue of implementing fifth-generation district systems on existing buildings has

Thermal exposure of implant osteotomies and its impact on osseointegration—A preclinical in vivo study
Objectives: Thermal and mechanical stresses during osteotomy preparation can impair implant osseointegration. This study investigated implant osseointegration following the measurement of temperature exposure during osteotomy drilling, varying drill design, sequence, and drill wear. Materials and methods: 36 tapered implants were placed in a mandibular minipig model after guided drilling of implan
18th Dynasty dipinti from Gebel el-Silsila (East Bank)
The current paper serves as the primary publication of a group of 30 dipinti (painted epigraphic documents), including 19 hieratic texts and 11 pictorial images or quarry marks. These were found and recorded within a series of quarries located on the east bank of Gebel el-Silsila. Recently excavated archaeological material places the creation of these quarries chronologically within the 18th dynasThe current paper serves as the primary publication of a group of 30 dipinti (painted epigraphic documents), including 19 hieratic texts and 11 pictorial images or quarry marks. Migrants’ experiences of a nature-based vocational rehabilitation programme in relation to place, occupation, health and everyday life
Forced migration has dramatically increased around the world during the last decade. Integration, including health and work among migrants, is an important topic in many European countries; thus, it is crucial to develop relevant approaches to address challenges that arise in tandem with migration and work. Nature-based intervention is one such approach that addresses different kinds of challenges
Transient numerical modeling and model predictive control of an industrial-scale steam methane reforming reactor
A steam methane reforming reactor is a key equipment in hydrogen production, and numerical analysis and process control can provide a critical insight into its reforming mechanisms and flexible operation in real engineering applications. The present paper firstly studies the transport phenomena in an industrial-scale steam methane reforming reactor by transient numerical simulations. Wall effect a
Is the association between physical activity and fatigue mediated by physical function or depressive symptoms in symptomatic knee osteoarthritis? The Multicenter Osteoarthritis Study
Objectives: To examine whether physical activity (PA) was associated with fatigue, and quantify the extent of potential mediation through depressive symptoms or physical function (PF) on the relationship between PA and fatigue in symptomatic knee osteoarthritis (KOA). Method: This longitudinal study used data from the Multicenter Osteoarthritis Study (n = 484), comprising subjects aged ≥ 50 years.

The dark side of sustainability orientation for SME performance
This article examines how a firm's willingness to make trade-offs that favour sustainability over commercial goals attenuates the relationship between firm-level sustainability orientation and subsequent performance. The hypothesis development draws on stakeholder theory and the literature on mission and revenue drifts, while the empirical analysis is based on two waves of original survey data on
Effective entrepreneurial marketing on Facebook – A longitudinal study
Social media offers a myriad of opportunities for entrepreneurial marketing strategies that leverage the power of communities, especially when they are combined with traditional approaches such as celebrity endorsement. The reach, frequency, and speed of communication on social media offer the ideal leverage for the drivers of entrepreneurial marketing. However, the rapid rate of change may threat
Make disruptive technological change happen - The case of additive manufacturing
Disruptive technological change can contribute to a more abundant world. However, potentially disruptive technologies often struggle to significantly influence practice. One prominent example is additive manufacturing (AM). Although AM is often regarded as the next great technological revolution in waiting, it has not yet established itself on a large scale in many fields of application. We invest
