My research interests relate to Swedish, Scandinavian and European cinema, especially with a focus on popular and contemporary film, and this has been so since I wrote my dissertation (2004) on Swedish genre cinema 1985-2000.
My teaching has covered many areas within film studies. I have, for example, regularly taught corses on Swedish Cinema, Film and digital media, and Film studies for teachers.
I am the founder and principal editor of Journal of Scandinavian Cinema (Intellect).
