Lifestyle changes needed for 1.5° target – What can we learn from research?

A key issue for achieving the 1.5-degree target is a reduction in consumption levels. Despite the fact that around half of the necessary emissions reductions must come from significant changes in consumption and in people's behavior, current climate policies focus mostly on technology and on the green industrial transition - which is important, but not sufficient. The International Institute for I

AI provides agricultural intelligence

Mathematics Professor Kalle Åström studies the future of agriculture with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). He develops mathematical models to optimise harvests and contribute to climate-friendly agriculture. Artificial intelligence and agriculture may seem like two different worlds, but not for Kalle Åström. On the contrary, he sees synergies and is keen to bring the two together. The Pro

The internships inspired to a career within AI

For Marcus Ascard, the interest in artificial intelligence (AI) started in his early studies – he was fascinated by how a computer could play a computer game by itself. Today, the engineering student has gained working experience in artificial intelligence from two different companies, and pictures a future career within AI. Marcus is in his fifth and final year of the civil engineering program in

lu.se: AI could improve mental health care

Patients are often asked to rate their feelings using a rating scale, when talking to psychologists or doctors about their mental health. This is currently how depression and anxiety are diagnosed. However, a new study from Lund University in Sweden shows that allowing patients to describe their experience using their own words - is potentially viewed as more precise and preferred by the patients.
