The reason we live alone – and what it means for the environment and community
Sustainability researcher Tullia Jack has interviewed people living alone about why they do so. A common thread among many of them was that living alone had not been an active choice. "Many of the people I interviewed would have liked to live with someone else. Ideally a romantic partner, but also friends or in a shared house. Living alone was simply something that had happened,” says Tullia Jack.
