A conventional PID-controller is used to investigate some process-models. These are going to be used later to test a self-tuner. Some problems associated to digital PID-algorithms are discussed, and such an algorithm is described and implemented in a computer. This report treats the adjustment of the parameters of an analogous PID-controller using a search method which optimizes a loss-function.
