My research focuses on how we use language to navigate social and institutional contexts, particularly with different experiences, knowledge, and interests. I am interested in the linguistic demands on critical workers and how we understand one another in different contexts, such as when a professional interacts with a client or when a researcher engages with society.

My dissertation examines how notions of quality, student access, and responsibility are constructed in higher education. I use Critical Genre Analysis and Critical Discourse Analysis, focusing on how situated linguistic practices shape conditions for participation and belonging in professional programmes.
