Combination and summary of ATLAS dark matter searches interpreted in a 2HDM with a pseudo-scalar mediator using 139 fb−1 of s=13 TeV pp collision data

Results from a wide range of searches targeting different experimental signatures with and without missing transverse momentum (ETmiss) are used to constrain a Two-Higgs-Doublet Model (2HDM) with an additional pseudo-scalar mediating the interaction between ordinary and dark matter (2HDM+a). The analyses use up to 139 fb−1 of proton–proton collision data at a centre-of-mass energy s=13 TeV recorde

Allocation of ecological water rights considering ecological networks in arid watersheds : A framework and case study of Tarim River basin

A robust water supply system is significant to the local ecosystem of riparian vegetation in the arid basin. Considering the elasticity and relative importance of ecological water use in different regions of the basin, this study defines the ecological water rights on a multi-year scale, divides the priority of those rights based on the ecological network, and proposes a rights allocation method.

Global area boom for greenhouse cultivation revealed by satellite mapping

Greenhouse cultivation has been expanding rapidly in recent years, yet little knowledge exists on its global extent and expansion. Using commercial and freely available satellite data combined with artificial intelligence techniques, we present a global assessment of greenhouse cultivation coverage and map 1.3 million hectares of greenhouse infrastructures in 2019, a much larger extent than previo

The role of biogeophysical feedbacks and their impacts in the arctic and boreal climate system

Globala klimatmodeller förutspår att denna förstärkta uppvThe physical environment in the northern high latitudes including the Arctic cryosphere has undergone dramatic changes due to anthropogenic greenhouse gas warming, which since pre-industrial times has been twice or more the rate of global mean warming. Global climate models predict that this accelerated warming will continue for at least the next few decades. Meanwhile, the arctic and subarctic ve

Implicit attitudes : Quantitative semantic misattribution procedure

Certain mental processes are suggested to exist beyond conscious awareness and control. These processes have often been categorized as implicit, in contrast to explicit, processes, which are readily available to conscious report. Researchers have attempted to measure and assess these implicit processes in a different number of ways. Projective measures, for instance, present ambiguous or unstructu

Acupuncture treatments for infantile colic : a systematic review and individual patient data meta-analysis of blinding test validated randomised controlled trials

Objective: Needle acupuncture in small children has gained some acceptance in Western medicine. It is controversial, as infants and toddlers are unable to consent to treatment. We aimed to assess its efficacy for treating infantile colic. Design: A systematic review and a blinding-test validation based on individual patient data from randomised controlled trials. Primary end-points were crying tim

Relativization in Formosan languages: a Greenbergian nightmare? Arthur Holmer Since Greenberg (1966), it has been known that there are more or less robust correlations between word order patterns at different levels of the clause. This is less true when it comes to ordering within NP, but one pattern still seems to be quite reliable: if a language has V-O order, it will also have N-Rel order (i.e.

Mixing Politics and Economics: Understanding the Rise of FTAs in East Asia

This study tests whether the rise of free trade agreements (FTAs) in East Asia since 2000 has been an attempt to manage the growing complexity of trade both between members of that region and each other, as well as between them and the rest of the world. The study uses a measure of dependency based on GDP, as well as a measure of intraindustry trade as indicators. Descriptive statistics showed tha

Between the Plentifulness and the Void: Historical Anthropology on The Uyghur People's Environmental Perception in Southern Xinjiang

This thesis is a historical anthropology of Uyghur people’s environmental perception, exploring the Uyghur people’s dwelling experiences in the oasis-desert landscape of southern Xinjiang during the early 20th century. Through the insights derived from historical anthropology and local knowledge, this study applies field visit and documents research. Multiple materials are covered in this study, i
