Phenomenological Studies on Supersymmetry and the Strong Force

In this thesis, we first consider the phenomenology of R-parity violating supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model. Specifically, a large number of Lepton and Baryon Number violating decays of sparticles to particles are implemented in the Pythia event generator. The augmented generator has then been used to study event properties of these models, mainly at the LHC. During these studies, th

MPSG: a generic context management framework in mobile spaces

Recent advances of body networks enable the acquisition of personal context from various kinds of body sensors. As a result, how to build a platform to properly manage personal context becomes a problem. In order to address this issue, we design and implement a mobile physical space gateway (MPSG) which is a generic context management framework in mobile spaces. This framework includes three layer

NoC-based CSP support for a Java chip multiprocessor

In this paper we examine the idea of implementing communicating sequential processes (CSP) constructs on a Java embedded chip multiprocessor (CMP). The approach is intended to reduce the memory bandwidth pressure on the shared memory, by employing a dedicated network-on-chip (NoC). The presented solution is scalable and also specific for our limited resources and real-time predictability requireme

Sequences in Pairing Problems: A New Approach to Reconcile Stability with Strategy-Proofness for Elementary Matching Problems

We study two-sided ("marriage") and general pairing ("roommate") problems. We introduce "sequences," lists of matchings that are repeated in order. Stable sequences are natural extensions of stable matchings; case in point, we show that a sequence of stable matchings is stable. In addition, stable sequences can provide solutions to problems for which stable matchings do not exist. In a sense, they
