Tumor‐associated humoral cytotoxicity in patients with acute myelogenous leukemia before and after chemotherapy
Sera of eight unselected adult patients with acute myelogenous leukemia obtained before and after chemotherapy were repeatedly tested for specific complement‐dependent cytotoxicity against autochthonous peripheral white blood cells from the acute leukemia stage and from the remission stage, respectively. Complement‐dependent cytotoxicity against white blood cells from the acute leukemia stage was
Absorption of blocking activity from human tumor‐bearer sera by staphylococcus aureus, cowan I
Staphylococcus aureus, strain Cowan I, contains a cell‐wall substance, protein A, which combines with the Fc part of IgG in most mammalian species. It can therefore be used as a solid‐phase immunoabsorbant for elimination of the reacting immunoglobulins. Since it has been shown that Cowan I could absorb out the blocking activity of sera from rats bearing isografts of polyoma‐virus‐induced sarcomas
The effects of cyclophosphamide on in vitro correlates of tumor immunity
The effects of cyclophosphamide (CY) on tumor immunity against isografts of rat sarcomas induced by polyoma virus were studied using in vitro techniques. Groups of sarcoma‐bearing animals received CY (250 mg/kg intraperitoneally 11 days after isografting) CY (150 mg/kg IP 8 days after isografting), or IP injections of 0.9% NaCl. In control rats tumor growth was progressive. All CY‐treated animals
Insektsfynd vid Biologiska institutionens bioblitz i Lund i juni 2018
A 24-hour bioblitz was performed by employees in the immediate surroundings of the Biological Institute in the city of Lund, South Sweden, on the 15th of June 2018. It produced 928 taxa, 411 of which were insects. Six species of Hymenoptera Parasitica were new to Sweden: Tumidiclava bimaculata (Blood), Lathromeris germanica (Girault), Aprostocetus crassiceps Graham, Quadrastichus anysis (Walker), Insect finds during the bioblitz of the Department of Biology in Lund in June 2018A 24-hour bioblitz was performed by employees in the immediate surroundings of the Biological Institute in the city of Lund, South Sweden, on the 15th of June 2018. Vårpälsbi Anthophora plumipes (Pallas) (Hymenoptera: Apidae) som hyresgäst i ett specialgjort bihotell
Nestbuilding of the hairy-footed flower bee Anthophora plumipes (Pallas) (Apidae) in a home-made bee hotel with a loam mixture, in a garden in Lund, Scania, is reported. Observations of behaviour and the ecology of the species are described.

Surface functionalization of III-V Nanowires
The physical and chemical properties of semiconductor nanowires are significantly influenced by their surface structure and morphology. This can be understood in that surfaces make out a much larger part of the total structure as compared to macroscale objects. An immediate consequence is that the lack of surface control can result in poor performance and reproducibility of any nanowire device. It

A study for testing the sensitivity and reliability of the Lysholm knee scoring scale
The aim of the present investigation was to test the Lysholm knee scoring scale from 1985 for sensitivity and reliability. Thirty-one patients with one of four different diagnoses: anterior cruciate ligament rupture (ACL), meniscus tear (MT), patello-femoral pain syndrome (PFPS) and lateral ankle sprain (LAS) participated in the study. None of the patients were in the acute phase of injury, and no
Workplace Incivility : Investigating bystander behavior, well-being, and coping responses to perceived incivility
Trots detta så har färre studier undersökt hur ohövliga beteenden påverkaWorkplace incivility has been found to be a ubiquitous phenomenon, with adverse effects for individuals, organizations and society. Over the past two decades, substantial research efforts have been made to increase knowledge about workplace incivility, including investigations of its targets and perpetrators. However, less research has been conducted on how workplace incivility impacts bystanders.
ST14A cells have properties of a medium-size spiny neuron
The ST14A cell line was previously derived from embryonic day 14 rat striatal primordia by retroviral transduction of the temperature-sensitive SV40 large T antigen. We showed that cell division and expression of nestin persists at 33°C, the permissive temperature, whereas cell division ceases, nestin expression decreases, and MAP2 expression increases at the nonpermissive temperature of 39°C. In
Device Performance of Emerging Photovoltaic Materials (Version 1)
Emerging photovoltaics (PVs) focus on a variety of applications complementing large scale electricity generation. Organic, dye-sensitized, and some perovskite solar cells are considered in building integration, greenhouses, wearable, and indoor applications, thereby motivating research on flexible, transparent, semitransparent, and multi-junction PVs. Nevertheless, it can be very time consuming to
Ablation mechanisms of nanosecond and picosecond laser scribing for metal halide perovskite module interconnection – An experimental and numerical analysis
Laser-based fabrication of metal-halide perovskite mini-modules has recently been demonstrated using nanosecond (ns) laser pulses. However, it still suffers from high-resistance contacts due to remaining PbI2 residues at the bottom of the absorber-opening P2 scribe line. Therefore, in this study, we investigate the effect of shorter picosecond (ps) laser pulses, and thus lower heat input, on the c
In Situ TEM Monitoring of Phase-Segregation in Inorganic Mixed Halide Perovskite
Photoinduced phase separation, which limits the available band gap energies for photovoltaic applications, was reported for a range of mixed-halide perovskites. A microscopic understanding of the phase separation mechanism is still lacking but may be beneficial to rationalize limitations as well as enable the design of phase-stable perovskite semiconductors. In this letter, electron-beam-induced p
Building Blocks of Hybrid Perovskites : A Photoluminescence Study of Lead-Iodide Solution Species
In this work, we present a detailed investigation of the optical properties of hybrid perovskite building blocks, [PbI2+n]n−, that form in solutions of CH3NH3PbI3 and PbI2. The absorbance, photoluminescence (PL) and photoluminescence excitation (PLE) spectra of CH3NH3PbI3 and PbI2 solutions were measured in various solvents and a broad concentration range. Both CH3NH3PbI3 and PbI2 solutions exhibi
