I am a PhD student at the section for English Linguistics. My project deals with how British children view different accents.

English is spoken in many different ways. For example, someone born and raised in Manchester speaks differently than someone born and raised in Glasgow. Moreover, someone born and raised in Finland will speak English differently than someone born and raised in Egypt.

The goal of my project is to see what children think of this variation at different ages. The data collection has been made possible thanks to the invaluable help of the Plymouth Babylab (University of Plymouth) and the Language Acquisition Lab (Queen Mary University of London).

In the Research Portal you can search and find information about all active researchers, units, publications, projects, infrastructures, and more, to get an overview of Lund University research.
