I hold a PhD in general linguistics. In my doctoral thesis, I investigated the classifier system in Baniwa [bwi], an Arawakan language spoken in Northwestern Brazil. My current postdoc project, funded by the Swedish Research Council, explores the role of classifiers in landscape categorization, both in Baniwa and cross-linguistically.
My research interests include language description and documentation, linguistic diversity, historical linguistics, language contact, typology, and language cognition. I am especially interested in nominal classification systems in Amazonian languages.
In the Research Portal you can search and find information about all active researchers, units, publications, projects, infrastructures, and more, to get an overview of Lund University research.
