The Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology | Lund University

I am currently a PhD student in Spanish at Lund University. I have a BA in Humanities from the Carlos III University of Madrid (2015) and a Master's Degree in Latin-American Studies from the University of Bergen (2017). My current doctoral project intends to understand the relationship between violence, architecture and subjectivity through the concept of 'the wounding house'. To do this, I will analyse a variety of texts extracted from current Venezuelan literature, which correspond to a time of increasing social and criminal violence itself. Furthermore,I will elaborate on a theory of the immanent and inaudible violence that is in and within the material body of the new Venezuelan house of the last decade. The main objective would be to determine, through literature, how the walls of the house, the decomposition of things, the windows and the various structural objects are capable of violating the subject-inhabitant and, as a result, of constructing a different kind of subjectivity.
