Bivalence and future contingency

This work presents an overview of four different approaches to the problem of future contingency and determinism in temporal logics. All of them are bivalent, viz. they share the assumption that propositions concerning future contingent facts have a determinate truth-value (true or false). We introduce Ockhamism, Peirceanism, Actualism and T x W semantics, the four most relevant bivalent alternati

Robot assisted framing

The paper describes a concept for securing the geometry in flexible production based on robot assisted framing. This uses the robot(s) as an active device during change-over between product variants and it is assumed that product variants can be produced in any mixed order. The case under study is cabs for trucks which in traditional production require large and heavy equipment which is above the

Pragmatic Arguments for Rationality Constraints

An argument of this kind purports to show that a violator of a given constraint can be exposed to a decision problem in which she will act to her guaranteed disadvantage. Dramatically put, she can be exploited by a clever bookie who doesn’t know more than the a

Particular emphasis will be put on the period since the mid-1990s. Accordingly, a brief presentation and critical analysis of various important aid bodies like the Swedish Film Institute (SFI), the Nordisk

Impact of DSL link impairments on higher layer QoS parameters

An increasing demand from e.g. real-time multimedia applications (IPTV, OTT) adds strains on especially DSL based access links. In this paper we argue why it is important to study DSL link impairments and their impact on QoS parameters on higher layers. We discuss the need for establishing methods for quality of service estimation with cross layer techniques and present some initial results.
